World’s biggest shipwreck

World’s biggest shipwreck

The sinking of Titanic and Wilhelm Gustloff in perspective

By Julio Severo
Even with their sophisticated, fast and high-powered news and information technology, modern humankind has a hard time to see or recognize proven facts.
One of those facts is that it is impossible to live without God and his values. Nazis tried, and they reaped bitter and destructive consequences. Communists tried, and they did and they do the same reaping. Both socialist ideologies were focused on man and based on the evolution theory, which dethrones God and enthrones man, or monkey.
Without God, tragedy is sure. In its inauguration in 1912, Titanic, which was the largest ship of its time, was greeted with the famous words, “Not even God can sink this ship.”
The ship sank, producing what is proclaimed today as the biggest sinking in the modern history.
However, this is not the whole true. There was a much bigger tragedy.
The world’s biggest shipwreck happened in the winter of 1945, right at the end of the World War II.
With the advance of the Soviet communist army over eastern Germany, millions of German civilians tried to flee from the furious red troops, who destroyed everything, killed and tortured, and raped all women and girls in their way.
Some were able to escape. So hundreds of thousands of German women, children and wounded tried the fastest way to flee for German areas out of Soviet sphere. German civilians were aware that this was their only hope to escape the sure fate of mass death, slavery and rapes in the hands of Soviet communists. Those unable to flee became total victims of the Soviet cruel fancies and depravities, and women and girls would be condemned to sexual tortures for years.
It is in this context of annihilation of civil populations that hospital ship Wilhelm Gustloff was escaping from the implacable Soviet invasion, carrying more than 9,000 people, mostly women and children. Half the way, in its desperate journey to reach western Germany, the civil ship will become the main character of the biggest silent shipwreck in the history.
In the dark and frozen night of January 30, 1945, the hospital ship is sighted by a Soviet submarine, which shoots three torpedoes, condemning thousands of women and children to death in waters 10 Celsius (14 Fahrenheit) below zero.
In the shipwreck of Titanic, 1,517 people died — a figure considered high.
Yet, in the sinking of the hospital ship Wilhelm Gustloff, 9,343 people perished.
Wilhelm Gustloff
The Soviet communist ideology — which did not believe in God and worshipped evolution theory — killed a huge crowd of defenseless women and children in cold blood. Did the fact that the Soviets were in war against Nazism — which equally despised the Bible and worshiped evolution theory — entitle them to kill innocent people?
But as Dostoyevsky, a Russian writer in the pre-communist era, said, “Without God, everything is possible.”
Contempt for God in the culture of the Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics made possible for their soldiers not to have any compassion for defenseless civilians. The sinking of the hospital ship Wilhelm Gustloff unavoidably brings to memory in an emphasized way the disrespect to the most basic human rights. The memory of Titanic saves socialists from that uncomfortable truth.
So the insistence of holding up the sinking of Titanic as the world’s biggest shipwreck seems to have the exclusive purpose of covering the fact that the true and only bigger shipwreck in the history was provoked by the cowardice of men moved by an ideology without God. The image of leftism, communism and socialism is thereby protected from the brutality of their actions. Nothing upsets more a leftist than truth.
In order to soften the terrible truth, liberal historians allege that many of the women belonged to SS — and possibly, children belonged to some kind of kid’s SS. (Possibly also, some Soviet soldier might have witnessed babies armed with machine guns and grenades!) Another excuse was that the Soviet submarine commander, because of the dark night, was unable to recognize that that enormous ship didn’t have the appearance of a warship. Supposedly, he was unable to know that it was a hospital ship carrying a crowd desperate civilians. However, it is known that in broad daylight Soviet airplanes, when sighting crowds of German civilians fleeing by the roads, shot them as in a competition for targets. In fact, even English and American soldiers, who were war prisoners of the Nazi in eastern Germany, were not spared from cruelties when captured by the Soviet army.
The communist inhumanity has been very well known. This is why during the anti-Communist military government in Brazil, the exiled leftist artists and politicians didn’t choose to live in Cuba, Soviet Union, North Korea or other socialist “paradise.” They opted for capitalist countries! For instance, former Brazilian Marxist president Fernando Henrique Cardoso chose exile in France. Gilberto Gil, in England. Why to choose exile in a socialist slum when they could opt for capitalist luxury?
With the purpose of not frightening the German population with the public disclosure of such a big loss before the Soviet advance, national socialist dictator Hitler ordered German press into silence over Wilhelm Gustloff’s sinking. Soviets never tried to break that silence by making a mass world advertising of their big feat of producing a disaster worse than the shipwreck of Titanic, because other nations could not have seen as honor the fact that Soviets were celebrating the sinking of a ship that, besides not representing any military danger to them, was rescuing desperate civil refugees.
For the socialists’ relief, the silence imposed by Hitler and the universal faith that Titanic was the world’s worst shipwreck keep Wilhelm Gustloff and communist cowardice in the basements of the forgetfulness in the world history.
Did the hospital ship Wilhelm Gustloff, with its enormous shipment of women and children, deserve to be willfully sunk? Nazism and communism deserved such sinking. Although Nazism (an acronym for national socialism) has been defeated, communism kept its march of blood and destruction, condemning to slavery, darkness and death millions of human beings, and many lies linked to socialism do not have still been sunken. On the contrary, every way of disinformation has been used to hide the cowardice of communist ideology.
In Brazil, we have reasons to give preference to the name Titanic. It is easier to remember than the complicated German name Wilhelm Gustloff. But the reasons of the Karl Marx religion sympathizers are others.
Everything that was necessary for Titanic to go down, with its 1,517 passengers, was an iceberg, provoker of the fatal accident. Everything that was necessary for Wilhelm Gustloff and its 9,343 passengers to perish in the sea was an implacable Soviet commander of frozen heart — a womanizer, an alcoholic man who would eventually go to prison for robbery. Being educated at atheistic schools of the secular Soviet State, he is an example of what Darwin’s evolutionist ideas and Karl Marx’s socialist ideas do in the heart, mind and soul of a man. Without God, every type of evil is made possible.
Worse than the shipwreck of Titanic is Wilhelm Gustloff’s sinking. And much worser than Wilhelm Gustloff’s sinking is the shipwreck of whole societies into the abysses of destruction of the chameleonic socialist ideology.
Do you want to know the final result of a society that is educated to despise the Bible and worship evolution theory, dethroning God and his values and enthroning Karl Marx, Hitler, Darwin or other men and their values? Look at what happened to Nazi Germany and the extinct Soviet Union: when human beings stop respecting God and start to believe that they came from a monkey, they become worse than wild beasts.
