Guenonian Influence in Brazil’s Bolsonaro Administration
By Julio Severo
Brazil is in a political and spiritual scenario
requiring a lot of discernment. On the one hand, Brazilian
President Jair Bolsonaro relied on evangelical conservatism to become president.
He got what he wanted. But on the other hand, as president he has given much
power to Guenonian conservatism.
René Guénon was an Islamic occultist who
lived almost 100 years ago. His most important disciple was Julius
Evola, who wrote books promoting right and witchcraft at the same time. His
books inspired both Nazism and fascism. Through Evola, Guénon’s influence
was present in Nazism and fascism.
Guénon’s influence today is seen through Steve
Bannon, expelled by Trump as a traitor and opportunist. If he had not been
driven out, Bannon would have become the new Julius Evola.
But Guénon’s influence is seen in the
Brazilian government through Olavo
de Carvalho, considered the Rasputin of Bolsonaro. No one in Brazil has
been popularizing Guénon more than Olavo has done for decades. But he disguises
this decades-old propaganda by claiming that he criticizes Guénon. He
criticizes and recommends him, just as did Guénon himself with Freemasonry,
criticizing and recommending it at the same time.
Lack of duplicity is not an unnatural trait
in the occult character.
Several pupils-adherents of Carvalho were
blindly appointed by Bolsonaro, thus strengthening the conservatism or
traditionalism of Guenon in the Brazilian government.
Ernesto Araújo, the foreign minister, has
an official diplomatic document openly praising Guénon and Evola and their
esoteric traditionalism. Where did Ernesto learn that? From his old master
Olavo, who always recommended Guénon’s books and the like.
There are other Olavo’s pupils-adherents in
the government exercising the same occult influence.
It is a surprise to many to know that
conservatism is also advocated by occultists. Guénon is just one example. Evola
is another. And it was precisely their influence that was present in Nazism and
fascism, populist movements. Bannon
himself, who is Olavo’s friend, recognizes Nazism and fascism as populist
movements. And Bannon also praises Guénon and Evola.
The Guenonian influence is strongly
present in the Bolsonaro administration through the Brazilian Evola, Olavo de Carvalho,
who notwithstanding having plagued the government with strife, gossips,
intrigues and confusions since the beginning, even so he
received from a hypnotized Bolsonaro the highest award from Brazilian
government.
It would be a monumental tragedy a
government enthusiastically elected by conservative Christians strengthening right-wing
occultism. This is already happening.
If you are an intercessor, pray. Brazil
has left the socialist hole, but if Bolsonaro fails to break free of Olavo’s Guenonian
influence, just as Trump was able to get rid of Bannon’s Guenonian influence,
Brazil will either enter or have already entered another hole. The hole of the
esoteric right.
