Time
for a New Song for the One Who Does New Things

Trials,
in the life of those who do not know Jesus, it is time to make complaints. But
in the life of those who know Him, it is time to make new songs of praise. King
David, a great composer of the Psalms, said that God put a new song in his
mouth:
“He
put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and
fear, and put their trust in the LORD.” (Psalm 40:3 ESV)
Only
those who receive a new Spirit and a new heart from Him can go through trials
with an attitude of praise to God. God says:
“And
I will give them one heart, and a new spirit I will put within them. I will
remove the heart of stone from their flesh and give them a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel
11:19 ESV)
The
new Spirit is the Holy Spirit, with all His variety of supernatural gifts,
presence, anointings, visits and empowerment. But what is the use if a man
receives the Spirit if that man has a heart of stone, unable to feel the Spirit
and His fullness?
When
God spoke of giving a new Spirit and a new heart, He spoke to the Jewish
people, who had the Bible (the Old Testament), in contrast to the rest of the
world who lived in paganism. They were quarries of biblical theology, but a lot
of stones in the heart, even with a lot of theology, can easily close itself,
not perceive and not feel what comes from the Holy Spirit.
So
even those who have the Bible can have a hard heart.
The
Pharisees read, studied and preached the Bible constantly, but when Jesus
ministered very close to them, they did not perceive, see or feel anything
divine about Him.
Therefore,
whoever does not have the baptism or fullness of the Holy Spirit, needs to
seek.
Whoever
already has the baptism in the Holy Spirit needs to seek much more from Him,
because He has much more to give than you can imagine. The fullness of the
Spirit should be a daily goal for every Christian.
Yet,
you also should ask God to take from you the heart of stone that is unable to
feel the presence and gifts of the Holy Spirit and ask Him to give you a heart
of flesh, so that you can feel all that He gives you.
Whoever
is filled with this Spirit praises God and prophesies what God most likes to
do: new things.
I
don’t know what 2021 will be like, but your goal should be to seek much more of
the Spirit and a heart open to Him. With that, the trials will never be
stronger than the God to whom you praise. He will always give an escape door
and surprises.
