Making Sodomy Great Again: Trump becomes first Republican president to celebrate LGBT Pride Month as he launches campaign to make homosexuality legal around the world
By Julio
Severo
Donald Trump has surprised left-wingers
and disappointed conservative Christians on May 31, 2019, by officially
inaugurating June 2019 as LGBT Pride Month as he said, “My Administration has
launched a global campaign to decriminalize homosexuality and invite all
nations to join us in this effort!”
It is the first time a Republican
president has publicly celebrated the LGBT Pride Month, where the 30 days of
June are dedicated to celebrate the sexual behavior of homosexuals. If Trump dedicated
30 days of a month to celebrate Christianity, especially Protestantism that
founded America, there would be widespread outcries. It would be impossible for
him to make such celebration. In fact, in the 500th year of the Protestant Reformation
on October 31, 2017, Trump did no mention of it, even though he is the president
of the largest Protestant nation in the world. Instead,
he celebrated Halloween and its occultism. Obviously, for him the
homosexual behavior and Halloween deserve more celebrations than Christianity.
“As we celebrate LGBT Pride Month and
recognize the outstanding contributions LGBT people have made to our great
Nation, let us also stand in solidarity with the many LGBT people who live in
dozens of countries worldwide that punish, imprison, or even execute
individuals on the basis of their sexual orientation,” Trump wrote in support
of the LGBTI Pride Month. His comment was not different of comments by Barack
Hussein Obama and Hillary Clinton, who also used the language of human rights
and legal punishment, imprisonment and execution of homosexuals as pretexts for
their campaign to make homosexuality legal around the world.
U.S. evangelical leaders are already
voicing their concerns. Dr. Michael Brown, a U.S. Jewish Pentecostal author and
minister, tweeted:
“I’m
deeply disappointed in President Trump celebrating gay pride this month. For
the first 2 years he broke the trend, but unfortunately has gone in the wrong
direction this time. I urge him to reconsider. @realDonaldTrump.”
Robert A. J. Gagnon, a theology professor
and author of the book “The Bible and Homosexual Practice: Texts and
Hermeneutics,” wrote
on his Facebook,
“Terribly
misguided tweets by Trump celebrating ‘LGBTQ’ ‘pride.’ He deserves all the
criticism he can get from conservatives on this… Trump was never fully reliable
to oppose ‘LGBTQ’ incursions. Democrats were always fully ‘reliable’ to support
every ‘LGBTQ’ tyranny. Trump must be made to know that supporting the ‘LGBTQ’
agenda will gain him few votes and cost him many.”
Activist Mommy Elizabeth Johnston tweeted,
“Mr.
President, w/ all due respect, celebrating sexual deviancy is very unbecoming
of the leader of the free world. Furthermore, LGBT community is brazenly
anti-free speech (if you disagree w/ them) & anti-religious liberty (if
you’re a Christian).”
“I
was Trump’s earliest supporter for President. I don’t support him for
re-election. The danger of sodomy approval is way beyond politics. If he
doesn't relent in his crusading for homosexuality then he will not be
re-elected.”
Peter LaBarbera, president of Americans
for the Truth about Homosexuality, tweeted,
“Was
this tweet was written by @RichardGrenell, Trump's openly homosexual &
avowed ‘gay Christian’ Amb. to Germany? Why should we celebrate behavior that
is clearly called sin by the Bible (Trump’s favorite book)? Moreover no ‘Shining
City on the Hill’ promotes sodomy to the world.”
“Shining City on the Hill” is an expression
that conservative President Ronald Reagan used, based on Jesus’s words: “You
are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matthew
5:14 ESV) Reagan used it to mean that the U.S. has as its mission to be a “Shining
City on the Hill.” But with Obama and now Trump, America is, as far as
homosexual sin is concerned, a “Sinning City on the Hill.”
LaBarbera also said,
“Dear
@Franklin_Graham, I hope you speak out against this tweet by @realDonaldTrump
promoting (homo)sexual immorality and gender rebellion to the world. No
president should defy Biblical Truth. Note: I’m generally a strong supporter of
President Trump and I’m NOT a Never Trumper.”
Graham is an outspoken critic of the
homosexual agenda and an outspoken supporter of pro-family values. He has
criticized Hollywood and Democrats for supporting the gay agenda. And when
Obama, his administration and the U.S. mainstream media were attacking Russian
President Vladimir Putin because of the Russian law banning homosexual
propaganda to children and adolescents, Graham
wrote the cover story in the Decision magazine, published by the Billy Graham
Evangelistic Association, touting the courage of the Russian president to
confront the powerful Gay New World Order.
Yet, in regard to Trump, Graham is in a
very delicate situation, because Trump
has been very nice to his family, including by attending the funeral of his
father and praising him. This was one of the nicest things a U.S. president
ever did to an evangelist. Graham is also his personal adviser. Probably, he
spoke or tried to speak to Trump about all of this. While Trump was tweeting his
celebration of the LGBTI Pride Month, Graham tweeted,
“I want to remind everyone of the importance of praying for @POTUS
@realDonaldTrump…”
If a president had been nice to my family,
I would also have a very hard time to confront him openly about his outright
homosexual propaganda, even though this was my spiritual duty as a Christian.
It
was very easy to leave the comfort zone to confront left-wing Obama over his
homosexual propaganda. But it has been very hard, a big challenge, for many
conservative evangelicals to leave their comfort zone of political interests to
confront right-wing Trump over his homosexual propaganda.
After tweeting his celebration of LGBTI
Pride Month, Trump retweeted some messages of Franklin Graham. He knows that
Graham has authority and influence to sway evangelicals. And his subtle message
is that he does not want Graham influencing evangelicals against his campaign
to make homosexuality legal around the world.
For the sake of keeping the communication
channels open, Graham should not criticize Trump openly, but let others do it.
And Christians should pray for Trump and Graham so that he may use wisely his
communication channels to Trump to speak privately what Trump needs to know.
Trump chose U.S. Ambassador to Germany Richard
Grenell in February to lead his international campaign to make homosexuality
legal around the world. Grenell, who is married to another homosexual, is the Trump
administration’s most high-profile homosexual appointee.
Reached by DailyMail in Berlin, Grenell said
“President Trump has never wavered in his support for decriminalizing
homosexuality.” Grenell, an open homosexual, told
Fox News last month that Vice President Mike Pence is on board with the campaign.
Has
Pence, again, put politics above conservative and Christian values?
Last February, when Grenell launched his
campaign, I denounced it in my article “Trump
Administration Seeks Legalization of Homosexuality Around the World While
Children and Other Victims of Homosexuality Are Forgotten”. The largest
U.S. gay magazine The Advocate reported then that Scott Lively, Family Research
Council (FRC) and Julio Severo were prominent evangelical voices opposing such
campaign. You can read it in my article “Largest
U.S. Gay Magazine Furious Over Evangelical Protest Against U.S. Government
Effort to Decriminalize Homosexuality Around the World”.
Yet, while I correctly interpreted that
this was a campaign by the Trump administration, FRC had a different
interpretation. In its piece titled “Human
Rights Are Human Rights,” FRC said that “Grenell wrote in an opinion
piece in the German newspaper Bild that ‘government officials must . . .
demand that U.N. members decriminalize homosexuality,’” but assuring that
“There’s just one problem — besides the ambassador, it doesn’t
seem that President Trump — or anyone else in the administration —
authorized this ‘campaign.’”
For FRC, Trump was innocent of such
campaign, which was a betrayal of Trump’s evangelical supporters. FRC just did
not believe that Trump would support Grenell’s campaign. I published in the
United States two articles showing that FRC was wrong and that they needed a
stronger stance regarding gay issues in the Trump administration. FRC reacted
by successfully requesting the removal of these two articles from a prominent
U.S. website, but a copy of these articles is also available in my personal
blog here:
In spite of FRC’s efforts to deny, the
Trump administration was already advancing the homosexual agenda and Trump was
only waiting the right time for him to come out on its defense. Meanwhile, he
was using departments in his administration to defend the gay agenda on his
behalf.
In 2017, the State
Department, under Rex Tillerson, celebrated June as LGBTI Pride Month, but
those who did not want to see Trump involved in this did not see his voice speaking
through Tillerson. A whole month where U.S. government officials celebrated
homosexuality in the U.S. and its embassies around the world! How could Trump’s
conservative evangelical supporters think that he had no hand on all of this?
In 2018, the State
Department, under “evangelical” Mike Pompeo, again celebrated June as LGBTI
Pride Month, but those who did not want to see Trump involved in this again
did not see his voice speaking through Pompeo. A whole month where U.S.
government officials celebrated homosexuality in the U.S. and its embassies
around the world! How could Trump’s conservative evangelical supporters think
that he had no hand on all of this?
Other prominent figures in the Trump
administration, especially
U.S. Ambassador to UN Nikki Haley, voiced support for the LGBTI Pride
Month, but those who did not want to see Trump involved in this did not see his
voice speaking through Haley.
The signs were clear, but they were not
seen by those who did not want to see.
As to FRC, even having contact with high-profile
Republicans and having privileged information, it misrepresented Trump to its
evangelical audiences, as if his voice through his own State Secretaries, U.S. Ambassador
to the UN and others were not his strategic voices, as if his homosexual
campaign were not a homosexual campaign.
What may have left evangelical supporters of
Trump in doubt regarding this clear voice is that sometimes Trump made
compromises to them, for example, the
ban on transsexuals in the military. But this is a minor compromise in
contrast with bigger compromises to homosexualists. For example, Trump
kept in his administration the post of the U.S. global homosexual envoy created
by Obama.
Trump kept many other homosexual posts
created by Obama in the federal government, but his evangelical supporters did
not take them seriously because of his minor compromise to them. I
call it “cake strategy,” where Trump, to make everybody happy, gave slices of a
cake to everybody. Increasingly minor slices (or concessions) to
evangelicals and increasingly major slices (or concessions) to homosexualists.
The difference is that while conservatives
are satisfied with one or two slices, left-wingers complain all the time.
Regardless how many slices he gives to them, they are never satisfied, because
they always want the whole cake.
Last year, Trump appointed a conservative
judge to make conservatives happy and he appointed a homosexual judge to make
homosexualists happy. I criticized Trump’s compromise here: “Trump
and His Judges, One for Conservatives and One for Gay Activists”. Not
surprisingly, the
left criticized me for not accepting Trump’s gay judge.
Trump
may be worried, because immediately after he tweeted his tragic celebration of
the LGBT Pride Month, he began to retweet evangelical messages, especially from
Franklin Graham. Even so, the evangelical pressure on him should continue.
If most Trump supporters were
homossexualists or left-wingers, I could understand his stance of giving in to
their whims. But this is not so.
Evangelicals
are the main political base of Trump, and he is using this base to legalize
homosexuality around the world, in an effort calculated to backfire — against
evangelicals, because the gay agenda is against Christianity.
There are also other compromises in the
Republican Party. The largest “conservative” conference in the U.S. — the Conservative
Political Action Conference (CPAC) — has been harboring homosexualists while
outrightly rejecting conservative evangelicals opposed to the homosexual agenda.
So as homosexualists advance in the Republican
Party and conservative conferences, evangelicals and other conservatives will
be more and more antagonized.
Conservatives should not be deceived by
Trump’s campaign to make homosexuality legal. The standard, classical way used
by left-wingers to begin a campaign to legalize homosexuality is to address
human rights and to protect homosexuals from violence. The final result is
always the same: Bigger and bigger homosexual privileges resulting in bigger
and bigger persecution of Christians.
Even
if the push of the Trump administration addressed only violence against
homosexuals, why prioritize individuals known for their bad sexual choices?
When
I think about violence and homosexuality, the first thought coming to my mind
is not individuals suffering violence for their sexual lifestyle. The first
thinking is children suffering homosexual violence — physical and
psychological. There is a massive effort to cover up the suffering of children
in the hands of homosexual predators.
The
Catholic Church is a living evidence of the gravity of
homosexual violence against children.
Young men with hidden homosexual problems enter Catholic seminaries, and even
though they are never delivered from their homosexual demons and vices, they
become priests and bishops. The natural consequence is that their homosexuality
eventually produces sexual violence against children.
If
you cannot hinder even a Christian setting where there is homosexuality from
committing sexual violence against children, how does the U.S. government
expect to protect a homosexual culture known for making children especially
vulnerable to sexual abuse?
I
have no doubt that George Washington, the first U.S. president known for discharging dishonorably a
soldier because of his homosexual behavior,
would never accept the U.S. government celebrating a “LGBTI Pride Month.” Instead,
he would launch a “Month of Protection of Children Against Homosexual
Propaganda and Violence.” He would also launch a push to encourage nations to
protect children and teens from homosexual propaganda and its psychological and
physical violence.
Putin’s
Russia has given a very good example by enacting in 2013 a law banning
homosexual propaganda to children. The Obama administration, which was busy
celebrating homosexuality in its State Department and engaged in efforts to
decriminalize homosexuality around the world, growled at the Russian law and
used the Ukrainian issue as a pretext to impose sanctions on Russia.
With
Trump, my expectation was that he would use the U.S. government to do much more
than Russia against the powerful homosexual agenda and its predatory threat to
children. Yet, in many ways and year after year Trump, his administration and
his State Department are doing more and more to imitate Obama and his obsession
to celebrate homosexuality.
Obama
never was worried about children and their protection against the predatory
threat of homosexual propaganda. Trump never showed any such worry too. No
“Month of Protection of Children Against Homosexual Propaganda and Violence.”
All
of them are interested in protecting a predatory sexual behavior that brought
God’s judgment to Sodom as an example of societies that would choose
homosexuality as their official lifestyle. The U.S., under Obama and Trump, are
not only celebrating and protecting this perverted lifestyle, but the Obama
administration worked and the Trump administration has been working to spread
the celebration and protection of this lifestyle that even today is bringing
big curses to the Catholic Church and eventually bring bigger curses and
destruction to societies that insist on embracing what God has always
condemned.
God has said,
“You
shall not lie with a male as with a woman; it is an abomination.” (Leviticus
18:22 ESV)
“What
happened to Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities near them is an example for us of
the punishment of eternal fire. The people of these cities suffered the same
fate that God’s people and the angels did, because they committed sexual sins
and engaged in homosexual activities.” (Jude 1:7 GWV)
In
an age where 100,000 Christians are slaughtered for their faith a year, it
makes no sense to focus on homosexuality. In fact, in the first 6 months of 2018 the
Trump administration admitted to the U.S. just 21 Christian refugees.
This was a blatant betrayal of Trump’s promises in 2016 that he would be a
protector of persecuted Christians. And now does he want to be a protector of homosexuality
when there are thousands and thousands of victims of homosexuality, including in
the Catholic Church?
Why
treat homosexuality as a characteristic of victimhood when is proven that
homosexuality is a characteristic of violence, including sexual, especially
against boys?
America
was called to be a “Shining City on the Hill,” not a “Sinning City on the Hill”
to please the globalists of the Gay New World Order.
Trump
was elected by evangelicals to Make America Great Again, not to Make Sodom
Great Again. People who read the Bible know the story and end of Sodom, whose
homosexual practices received the name of “sodomy.” Does Trump want America to experience
the same fate of Sodom?
Sodom
made sodomy great, and paid a high price. Why would America want to make sodomy
great again?
What
is the point of making America great for America to lead the world in the
celebration of homosexuality, just as Trump is doing on June 2019?
I
agree with Franklin Graham that Americans should pray for Trump.
Evangelicals
who elected Trump should pray for him to stop imitating Obama. And they should ask
him to oust homosexual activist Richard Grenell from his administration and
appoint evangelicals who may be able to celebrate a “Month of Protection of
Children Against Homosexual Propaganda and Violence” in the State Department
and launch an international push with such excellent purpose.
Conservatives
and evangelicals, in the U.S. and around the world, expect no less than this
from America.
