Brazil expresses concern at report of NSA spying

Brazil expresses concern at report of NSA spying

Jenny Barchfield
PARATY, Brazil (AP) - Brazil's foreign minister said Sunday his government is worried by a report that the United States has collected data on billions of telephone and email conversations in his country and promised an effort for international protection of Internet privacy.
The O Globo newspaper reported over the weekend that information released by NSA leaker Edward Snowden shows that the number of telephone and email messages logged by the U.S. National Security Agency in Brazil in January alone was not far behind the 2.3 billion reportedly collected in the United States.
Foreign Minister Antonio Patriota, speaking from the colonial city of Paraty where he was attending Brazil's top literary festival, expressed "deep concern at the report that electronic and telephone communications of Brazilian citizens are being the object of espionage by organs of American intelligence.
"The Brazilian government has asked for clarifications" through the U.S. Embassy in Brazil and Brazil's embassy in Washington, he said.
Patriota also said Brazil will ask the U.N. for measures "to impede abuses and protect the privacy" of Internet users, laying down rules for governments "to guarantee cybernetic security that protects the rights of citizens and preserves the sovereignty of all countries."
The spokesman for the U.S. Embassy in Brazil's capital, Dean Chaves, said diplomats there would not have any comment.
But the Office of the Director of National Intelligence issued a statement saying, "The U.S. government will respond through diplomatic channels to our partners and allies in the Americas ... While we are not going to comment publicly on specific alleged intelligence activities, as a matter of policy we have made clear that the United States gathers foreign intelligence of the type gathered by all nations."
The chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff warned Sunday that Snowden's overall disclosures have undermined U.S. relationships with other countries and affected what he calls "the importance of trust." Gen. Martin Dempsey told CNN's "State of the Union" that the U.S. will "work our way back. But it has set us back temporarily."
Patriota's reaction in Brazil extended diplomatic turbulence the U.S. has faced from friends and foes around the world since Snowden began releasing details of the surveillance.
Germany's top security official suggested last month that Internet users could shun operations that use U.S.-based computer servers to avoid security worries. France's Interior Minister used a July 4 garden party at the U.S. Embassy in Paris to complain about alleged U.S. spying, saying "such practices, if proven, do not have their place between allies and partners."
Hong Kong officials last month declined a U.S. request to extradite the former NSA contract worker amid indications of displeasure over his revelation that the former British colony had been a target of American hacking.
The O Globo article said that "Brazil, with extensive digitalized public and private networks operated by large telecommunications and internet companies, appears to stand out on maps of the U.S. agency as a priority target for telephony and data traffic, alongside nations such as China, Russia and Pakistan."
The report did not describe the sort of data collected, but the U.S. programs appear to gather what is called metadata: logs of message times, addresses and other information rather than the content of the messages.
The report was co-authored by U.S. journalist Glenn Greenwald, who originally broke the Snowden story in the Britain-based Guardian newspaper, where he writes a regularly blog.
In a Sunday posting, Greenwald wrote that "the NSA has, for years, systematically tapped into the Brazilian telecommunication network and indiscriminately intercepted, collected and stored the email and telephone records of millions of Brazilians."
He said Brazil was merely an example of a global practice.
"There are many more populations of non-adversarial countries which have been subjected to the same type of mass surveillance net by the NSA: indeed, the list of those which haven't been are shorter than those which have," he wrote.
The O Globo article said the NSA collected the data through an association between U.S. and Brazilian telecommunications companies. It said it could not verify which Brazilian companies were involved or if they were aware their links were being used to collect the data.
"It's most likely that any monitoring was done of undersea cables and satellites. For international transmissions and calls, the majority of the cables pass through the United States," Paulo Bernardo, Brazil's communications minister, told O Globo. "We're extremely concerned about this news, especially the possible involvement of Brazilian companies. If that actually happened, it would be a crime under Brazilian law."
Brazil was among several nations asked to provide political asylum by Snowden in recent days. The foreign ministry said last week that it did "not plan to respond" to the leaker's request, though spokesmen declined to say they explicitly denied his application. Other Latin American nations - Venezuela, Bolivia and Nicaragua - have already said they will grant asylum. On Sunday, Cuban President Raul Castro said he supported those countries' apparent willingness to grant Snowden asylum, but he did not say whether Cuba itself would offer him refuge or safe passage.
While some Brazilians were upset by the revelations, others seemed to shrug.
"On the one hand, the size of the U.S. espionage program and the number of Brazilians who fell into it is ridiculous," said Rodolfo Andrade, a 29-year-old businessman in Sao Paulo. "On the other hand, it helps international security."
Associated Press writer Marco Sibaja in Brasilia and John Rice in Mexico City contributed to this report.

Good News from Russia: Russians Made Homosexual Agenda Roll Back

Good News from Russia: Russians Made Homosexual Agenda Roll Back

Dr. Scott Lively
Good news on the homosexual battlefront is rare these days, and even when we get it, the victory is usually in the form of a delay in the advance of a particular homosexual goal rather than a clear defeat of their agenda. The “tabling” of the Illinois “gay marriage” bill recently, and of last year’s sexual orientation regulations (SORs) in Springfield MO come to mind. (Notice how there’s never an actual vote to strike down the proposed pro-homosexual policy when our side rises up in protest, just a delay until the progressives -- meaning regressives -- think it‘s “safe’ to proceed).
Rarest of all is news that the homosexual agenda has actually been rolled back. We got such news this week about Russia, which just passed a law criminalizing homosexual propaganda in that nation. Rather, most of us didn’t get the news, because the coverage was weak trending toward invisible since the mainstream media can‘t yet figure out how to spin it to the advantage of the “gays“ (but watch for many future stories about “innocent“ activists -- i.e. professional foreign provocateurs -- being “brutally“ suppressed by Russian authorities -- though never a word about how the Russian policy preserves family-based society and avoids the moral meltdown occurring in the West).
Frankly, I heard the news only when called by a Russian TV network for comment. Their crew drove up from New York yesterday afternoon to do the interview and filled me in on the details. They knew to contact me because of an AP story in which I had been interviewed before the final passage of the law. President Putin apparently signed it into law on July 1st. Here’s that story, which is also posted on our home page at www.defendthefamily.com.
I have enjoyed very few actual victories in my 25 years of front-lines ministry on this battlefield, so it is hugely gratifying to have played a role, however small, in the enactment of this law. This ban on homosexual propaganda was one of a few specific policies I had advocated in my 50-city tour of the former Soviet Union in 2006-2007. Significantly, the first version of this law at the local level was in St. Petersburg where I released my Letter to the Russian People in October of 2007 near the close of that tour.
Here in the United States it would not be possible to pass such a law these days because of the way our First Amendment has been misinterpreted in recent decades by the U.S. Supreme Court. The Founders would have had no such problem, but “free speech” today means “pro-gay” speech (as well as such important forms of expression as nude dancing and anime child porn) but speech pointing out the many dangers of homosexuality is no longer protected in many cases since the rise of so-called sexual orientation regulations (SORs) which define “anti-gay” Bible-quotes and similar “hate speech” as illegal discrimination. Who would have thought that the Russians would become the world’s champions of family values (relatively speaking) while the U.S. would trash its own constitution to normalize sexual perversion?
I’ve just learned that the World Congress of Families will hold it’s next international conference (WFCVIII) in Moscow next year. I would like very much to be there for that and have started a fund to cover my expenses to get there. Starting today, all donations not specifically designated for some other purpose through our website at www.defendthefamily.com/help/donate.php will go into a special WCFVIII travel fund.
I would like to take the opportunity of that trip to suggest ways to build upon the Russian policy and promote its adoption in other countries.
In honor of what the Russians have done I’ve decided to finally publish our Russian version of The Pink Swastika on our website. That project has been stalled for a long time, even though all the chapters of the 4th Edition have been translated and edited for publication in Russian. I need to find someone to translate the captions on the photos and graphics into Russian but that’s the only hold-up.
I will also send a letter of thanks and congratulations to President Putin, along with a copy of the English version of The Pink Swastika.
I urge you to spread the word about this important and encouraging pro-family development.
Comment by Julio Severo: Seeing the good example of Dr. Scott Lively, why do not we contact the Russian embassy in our countries to express our thanks and congratulations to President Putin for the anti-homosexualist propaganda law?

Obama’s War on Christians

Obama’s War on Christians

The entire issue of the June 2013 Whistleblower Magazine is devoted to Obama’s war on Christians and briefly mentions Julio Severo. The cover story of this issue is “Obama’s War on Christians.”
(A must-read for people of all religions and political persuasions. The following article is just the tip of the iceberg of how American civil liberties are going right down the tube under the present administration.)

UNDER OBAMA, CHRISTIANS AND CONSERVATIVES ARE ‘EXTREMISTS’

Opponents of abortion, same-sex marriage, illegal immigration singled out as dangerous

By Bob Unruh
BARACK Obama had been in the Oval Office only a few weeks when his administration’s first overt attack on traditional values conservatives was unleashed — a highly controversial report from the Department of Homeland Security titled “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment.”
Noting that many Americans were upset with the federal government for contributing to a major economic slump, the report pin-pointed those most likely to descend into radicalism and violence, even terrorism — namely, ”Groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration.”
That’s right — Not Islamic jihadists, but conservatives, patriots and Christians.
Proposed imposition of firearms restrictions and weapons bans likely would attract new members into the ranks of right-wing extremist groups as well as potentially spur some of them to begin planning and training for violence against the government the report warned. “The high volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by right-wing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement.”
US War Veterans a major danger to us as far as Obama is concerned!
Among the most dangerous people, said the Homeland Security report, were those members of the United States military who had defended American interests in conflicts abroad and had recently returned home. “Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists. DHS … is concerned that right-wing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities,” the report said.
It went on to accuse those objecting to Obama’s unprecedented federal spending free-for-all of being racist, and further warned that, ‘end times’ prophecies could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition and weapons.”
Dated April 7, 2009, the document was made public only days after a similar report blasted out by the chief of the Missouri Highway Patrol, compiled with the help of Department of Home Security (DHS), linked conservative groups to domestic terrorism. Specifically, it warned about people who might have pro-life bumper stickers, or those expressing support for third-party political candidates.
It didn’t take long to see the results. Within a month of the report, authorities in Louisiana stopped a driver and detained him for having a “Don’t Tread on Me” bumper sticker on his vehicle. Officers warned him about the “subversive” message it conveyed. “Don’t Tread on Me” is a traditional American symbol from the Revolutionary War period. The situation developed in the small town of Ball, La., where a receptionist at the police department told Whistleblower she knew nothing about the traffic stop, during which the “suspect” was investigated for “extremist” activities, according to a relative.
As the American Vision blog reported: “‘Liberals’ and other leftists have been calling defenders of traditional American, limited constitutional government, free enterprise, and individual liberty extremists’ since at least the 1964 election. Small town police misled by phony left-wing ‘reports’ are bad enough. Federal government agencies and their armed agents under the direction of leftist radicals are exponentially worse.”
The original DHS report, issued under Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano, resulted in at least one lawsuit. Richard Thompson, president and chief counsel of the Thomas More Law Center, said it was alarming that Napolitano never retracted the accusations or apologized to those identified in the report as possible terror dangers.
Thompson noted that the report also targeted as “potential terrorists” Americans who oppose abortion, same-sex marriage, restrictions on firearms, lax immigration laws and policies of President Obama regarding immigration, citizenship and the expansion of social programs, as well as those who oppose continuation of free trade agreements, are suspicious of foreign regimes, fear communist dictatorships and oppose a “one world” government.
It turns out the basis for the inflammatory DHS report was primarily online chat. According to data gleaned by Americans for Limited Government through a Freedom of Information Act request, one of the government report’s sources was “a frighteningly kooky website” that included a story about a scientist destroying a radio to God. Another suspect source was the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization which later was itself tied to domestic terrorism (in an imaginative interpretation of the law).
Since then, the Obama administrations attacks on conservatives and Christians have just continued to grow.
Among the many developments:
* The U.S. Census Bureau banned from its list of “partners” those groups that oppose lax immigration standards
* A tea party member who was writing letters to his elected representatives in opposition to massive government spending under Obama’s leadership reported he was investigated as a terrorist by the Joint Terrorism Task Force of the FBI!
* Blogger Dennis Loo at Salon.com revealed that the Department of Defense taught in a seminar that “certain First Amendment-protected activity may amount to lower level terrorism.” The details were cited from an ACLU letter highlighting controversial DoD information disseminated in seminars. For example, DoD’s “Annual Level 1 Antiterrorism Awareness Training for 2009 asked which was an example of low-level terrorism? The correct answer was protests.
* A lawsuit took issue with the Veterans Administration practice of placing any veteran seeking help with managing financial benefits and provisions designated for a disability on the nations registry of those not permitted to possess firearms.
* Shortly after Obama called for a “national civilian security force” that would be as big and well-funded as the U.S. military, a report from the Rand Corp. recommended using the U.S. Marshals Service to create a “Stability Police Force” inside the United States
* A Christian blogger who was forced to flee Brazil because of the conflict between that nations pro-homosexual “hate crimes” agenda and his advocacy for traditional marriage detected surveillance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on his site. Julio Severo’s, Last Days Watchman blog revealed it saw monitors from the DHS.gov location observing the site.
* A Colorado-based center that coordinated investigative efforts confirmed that federal agents distributed brochures to farm supply stores, gun shops and others warning that, “potential indicators” of terrorism included “paying with cash” or making “extreme religious statements.” Also buying “Meals Ready to Eat” or “night flashlights” made a person a suspect.
* In 2012, a congressional investigation revealed that the nations many anti-terrorism “fusion centers,” set up by the federal government to join local, state and federal investigations, probably have violated Americans’ privacy, issued reports that were outdated by the time they were released and wasted tax money by giving away SUVs.
* A West Point study released early this year, titled “Challenges from the Sidelines: Understanding America’s Violent Far-Right,” links pro-life leaders to terrorism. Author Arie Perliger wrote, “The anti-abortionists have been extremely productive during the last two decades, amassing 227 attacks, many of them perpetrated without the responsible perpetrators identified or caught.”
* The inspector general for the Department of Justice admitted in a report that the Civil Rights Division of one of the most powerful organizations in the federal government displayed a widespread hostility to protecting the civil rights of whites!
* Members of Congress this year were astonished that the U.S. Army Reserve would use a training brief that slams Catholics, evangelical Christians and others. The training seminar taught soldiers that evangelical Christians are an extremist threat to America along with groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood, the Ku Klux Klan and al-Qaida. The anti-Christian training seminar issue came to the attention of authorities when one Christian serviceman objected to the presentation.

Moral clash between US and Africa

Moral clash between US and Africa

By Julio Severo
Laying bare a strong moral clash, President Barack Obama on Thursday (June 27) urged African leaders to extend special rights to gays and lesbians but was bluntly rebuked by Senegal’s president, who said his country “still isn’t ready’ to decriminalize homosexuality, according to a AP report.
Obama opened his weeklong trip to Africa one day after the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the defense of traditional marriage in the US federal law to grant special rights for gay couples. In his first in-person comments on the ruling, Obama said the court’s decision marked a “proud day for America.” He pressed for similar homosexual acceptance in Africa, wading into a sensitive area in a region marked by stark moral contrasts with the US. Dozens of African countries outlaw homosexuality, with their past experience of widespread boy abuses by homosexuals.
Obama and Macky Sall
During a news conference with Senegalese President Macky Sall at the grand presidential palace in Dakar, Obama touted the striking down of the defense of marriage in the US federal law.
He urged Sall to have similar legal changes in Senegal, putting the defense of traditional marriage below the gay agenda.
However, Sall gave no ground. Senegal, he said, is “still not ready to decriminalize homosexuality.” Will it be ready someday?
It will depend on the “persuasion” powers by the US government. “Cultural imperialism,” an excellent video produced by Family Watch International (http://youtu.be/HbjAFUGQ3Xg), shows how UN and US use pressure and blackmail to force developing nations to embrace immoral agendas.
By the US measure, will not African nations be labeled democratic until their adherence of immoral agendas, especially the homosexual agenda? Reportedly, 38 African countries criminalize homosexuality. This, in Obama’s view, is undemocratic.
Democratic is what the US government does: indoctrinate its school children into homosexual perversions and criminalize criticism of wicked homosexual acts plainly condemned by the same Bible that was instrumental in the lives of the Founding Fathers.
Curiously, current America is a vast moral contrast not only with African nations, but also with the America envisioned and created by her Christian Founders.
Essentially, the Bible and Christian values have been criminalized in America, which abandoned their Bible-based Republic to embrace and impose a homosexual advocacy democracy.
I hope Africa may be able to resist such “democracy.”

Mourning: End of the Defense of Marriage in US federal law

Mourning: End of the Defense of Marriage in US federal law

By Julio Severo
In a historical decision, the Supreme Courte issued today (June 26, 2013) two rulings against natural family. In response to demands from gay supremacists, the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was invalidated in the protection that it granted to natural marriage against the gay “marriage” ideology. The Supreme Court found unconstitutional federal law upholding “marriage as only between a man and a woman.”
What will follow next? A decision saying that it is unconstitutional a marriage among only human beings, opening the doors to other perversions?
The other ruling struck down an initiative, approved by the Californian people, hindering gay supremacism from defacing and mutilating natural marriage with its marriage pirate copy.
US president Barack Obama immediately expressed his euphoria for the gay victory in the highest court. Obama said:
“Today’s DOMA ruling is a historic step forward for #MarriageEquality. #LoveIsLove”
Obama also called the leading gay activists involved in the DOMA defeat, congratulating them.

Hollywood joy

Hollywood, always in the forefront of the promotion of behavioral perversions, reacted with joy to the Court rulings, according to an AP report.
* “Historic day. Well done #SCOTUS.” Leonardo DiCaprio said.
* "We stand tall today. #DomaStruckDown So many fought for so long. Be proud, the prejudice are now the minority.” Lady Gaga said.
In official statement, Obama said:
“I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision to strike down the Defense of Marriage Act. This was discrimination enshrined in law. It treated loving, committed gay and lesbian couples as a separate and lesser class of people. The Supreme Court has righted that wrong, and our country is better off for it.”

Apostasy

Nothing of it would be possible if the American Church were not so advanced in shameless apostasy — an apostasy sweeping especially historical Protestant churches. Rev. Gary Hall, dean of Washington National Cathedral, said:
“Today’s rulings advance civil marriage equality, but they should also serve as a call for Christians to embrace religious marriage equality. Countless faithful Christians have lived out their lives in committed same-sex relationships, and we have seen the fruits of their fidelity in our families, our congregations and our communities. If we use this historic moment to see more clearly how their faithfulness contributes to the common good, we will better be able to walk with our LGBT sisters and brothers as an act of Christian faith.”
Washington National Cathedral
In contrast, Billy Graham always mentions a declaration by his wife: “If God doesn’t punish America, He’ll have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.”
With the Supreme Court rulings today, it no longer possible to know how different from Sodoma America is.

Supreme Court Owner

When I read the headlines in the morning, I was shocked. I was also very sad by that gigantic step backwards.
Supreme Court building
My wife, who had not read the news, had also wakened up very sad and only later told me that she had a dream, where she saw a building like a temple. When she described me the building, I could understand that it was the Supreme Court building. I showed her the picture of this building, and it was really this. She saw Satan there inside, being adored by the judges and others who work in that place. She saw Satan as big as the Supreme Court temple itself, showing hate for all those who worship Jesus Christ.
She saw Jesus’ worshipers, who had a small prayer room in that building, very sad and fearing for things yet to come, because Satan, who she saw as the owner of the whole Supreme Court space, wanted to take more measures to persecute Christians. The striking down of the Defense of Marriage is only the first step of the Supreme Court owner.

Conservative leaders’ anguish

That striking down brought anguished reactions from conservative leaders:
* “We are devastated that the Supreme Court succumbed to political pressure by voting to weaken the sacred institution. They neglected our most precious children who need a mother and a father united in marriage for healthy development.” — Rev. William Owens, president of Coalition of African-American Pastors.
* “We are deeply saddened by today's decision to not only allow but encourage same-sex marriage in our country- a country that was founded on biblical principles. We mourn for America's future, but we are not without hope.” — Tim Wildmon, president of American Family Association.
DOMA had been passed in the 1990s to stop the gay “marriage” militants’ advance. The federal law specifically declared that marriage was only between a man and a woman.
With its striking down, now every defense of marriage should also include gay couples.

Consequences for Brazil and other countries

How will the Supreme Court rulings affect Brazil and other countries?
America is today the only superpower in the world, and she is prioritizing homosexual issues in her society and in her foreign policies.
The priority of the US State Department, since two years ago, has been to advocate the so called homosexual rights.
Last year, Family Watch International produced an excellent video exposing homosexual imperialism especially coming through the US government. The video, which is here (http://youtu.be/HbjAFUGQ3Xg), shows that nations that don't give in to the imperialism imposed by America end victims of American cruelty, losing necessary help.
The US blackmail politics to poor countries today is for them to accept the gay agenda in return for a plate of food or medicines.
The psychological pressure of this imperialism comes especially from Hollywood, which is the world’s biggest propaganda machine, entirely in the service of the gay agenda.
The fight of pro-family Christians will be now more difficult, because by equaling natural marriage with gay “marriage,” America will be leading, as a superpower, the weakening of natural family in all of the countries under her cultural and financial influence.
If we struggle against gay militants who use public school children to promote homosexual propaganda, they will be able to defend themselves easily by saying, “We are just defending family. Did you forget that even America now officially says that gay ‘marriage’ is normal marriage is? We are equal. To attack gay agenda is now to attack family.”
Welcome to the world recreated in the image and likeness of the homosexual imperialism sponsored by America.
The Supreme Court rulings today give reason for perverted parties for those who want destroy the natural family, but they are mourning for families around world.

A Warning To The Church In America

A Warning To The Church In America

By Dr. Scott Lively, President, Defend the Family International
You may have heard of me. I am the pastor being sued in U.S. Federal Court for “Crimes Against Humanity” for preaching against homosexuality in Uganda. But I am really a “Canary in the Coal Mine,” with a warning for every Bible-believing Christian in our land, especially pastors and ministry leaders.
The American church is about to come under spiritual and cultural warfare the likes of which we have never seen and which most are not prepared for. The attacks will come from every corner of the secular world to challenge, condemn and punish us for our beliefs about homosexuality. These attacks will split denominations, congregations and even Christian families to a degree and with an intensity that will shock even those who have experienced the first ripples of “gay” conflict in the church over the past few decades. Large numbers of self-identified Christians will begin embracing so-called “Gay Theology,” and some will actually join the attacks against the remnant who stand firm on the truth. The pressure to give in to escape the psychological and sometimes physical persecution of the Christian “homophobes” will be so great that I believe a majority of church-goers will succumb, and a great many pastors will choose to “change with the times,” so as not to lose “their” church.
This collapse of the Christian infrastructure of America is, in my opinion, already in progress and irreversible because it is part of God‘s judgment. The “end-times” revival which many, including myself, expect and eagerly await will not stop this collapse, but will in fact hasten it by strengthening the remnant in their obedience to Christ while hardening the world (and fallen Christians) against us. The crisis will be so pervasive that no-one will be spared the choice of embracing or rejecting Biblical truth on this topic. The whole purpose of this trial is to test the strength of believers to endure greater troubles ahead.
We shouldn’t be surprised that God is using this issue as our test. A careful examination of His Word shows that open homosexuality in the Bible is symbolic of extreme rebellion against God leading to judgment. Thus, unique in all of scripture, Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed by fire and brimstone as the examplar of God’s wrath (2 Peter 2:6, Jude 1:7, Genesis 19:1-12), male on male sodomy is listed as the most heinous sin on the short list of sins which caused the land to “vomit out” the Canaanites from the territory promised to Abraham (Leviticus 18:1-30, esp. 22), and both male and female homosexuality are together identified as the examplar of the depraved or “reprobate” mind that defines the age of apostasy leading to Christ‘s return (Romans 1:18-32, 2 Timothy 3:1-5).
Noah’s Flood was preceded by the “marrying and giving in marriage” (Matt 24:37-40) of people whose thoughts were “only evil continually” (Genesis 6:5), evidence which the ancient Hebrew scholars interpreted as “gay marriage,” the final insult to God which unleashed the deluge. And in the final book of the Bible, just prior to the return of Christ to “judge and make war” against His enemies (Rev 19:11ff), Jerusalem under the Antichrist is “mystically called Sodom and Egypt,” signifying its essential association (I believe) with homosexuality and Islam respectively (Revelation 11:3-8).
Even 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, the “ex-gay” passage that proves that healed and recovered homosexuals were a part of the church from its earliest days, warns that unrepentant homosexuals “will not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” There is no room, even when we emphasize compassion for homosexual sufferers, to condone homosexual relationships or worse, to claim that homosexuality is blessed by God as a normal, intended variant of human sexuality.
My life’s work has been to stand against the (increasingly successful) assault of the homosexual movement on Biblical values in our society and around the world. My nearly 25 years of full time, front lines ministry on this battlefield has given me special insights and understanding of this issue. My refusal to be silenced by a long series of increasingly more dishonest and aggressive attacks on my work and reputation has familiarized me both with persecution and with the tactical “playbook” of the “gay” movement. I am thus issuing my warning to the church not so much as a prophesy (though it is confirmed in my spirit), but as the natural conclusion of deductive reasoning by a front-lines analyst with a unique vantage-point. In support of that conclusion, I offer the following observations.
First, on June 28, 1969 the goal of the American homosexual movement shifted from tolerance (the right to be left alone) to control (the complete restructuring of society in its own image, with “gays“ or their surrogates in all seats of power). Its tactics shifted from civil dialogue to implacable militancy. That was the date of the Stonewall Riot in New York City, today celebrated annually as “Gay Pride Day.” Logically, this movement cannot achieve its goal without replacing the Biblical social ethic of marriage-based heterosexual monogamy and the natural family with its own philosophy of unlimited “sexual freedom” (which is in reality moral anarchy). In short, the true and necessary goal of the “gay” movement is the defeat of Christianity.
Second, in the space of just forty years homosexual militants have defeated every secular institution in their path in the United States. The first to fall was the American Psychiatric Association in 1973, when “gay” activists, using Brownshirt tactics of disruption and intimidation, forced the APA to remove homosexuality from its list of mental disorders in its Diagnostic and Statistical Manual IV. The most recent and final secular institution to fall was the Boy Scouts of America in 2013 when the BSA leadership voted to allow openly self-declared homosexual boys into the organization. The next-to-last entity to fall was the U. S. military. In both cases, the first news following the capitulation was of uniformed members of each organization marching triumphantly in “Gay Pride” parades.
Third, the “gays” have always intended to attack the church in the final stage of their conquest of our culture. As early as 1987 they openly admitted this plan in an article called The Overhauling of Straight America, which later became the basis for the book After the Ball, which has ever since been their primary strategic blueprint. They wrote:
When conservative churches condemn gays…we can use talk to muddy the moral waters. This means publicizing support for gays by more moderate churches, raising theological objections of our own about conservative interpretations of biblical teachings, and exposing hatred and inconsistency. Second, we can undermine the moral authority of homophobic churches by portraying them as antiquated backwaters, badly out of step with the times and with the latest findings of psychology. Against the mighty pull of institutional Religion one must set the mightier draw of Science & Public Opinion (the shield and sword of that accursed "secular humanism"). Such an unholy alliance has worked well against churches before, on such topics as divorce and abortion. …. At a later stage…it will be time to get tough with remaining opponents. To be blunt, they must be vilified. (Guide Magazine, November 1987)
Frankly, even at this late stage of the game, much of the church seems to be still asleep or in denial about the state of our culture. Even many conservative Christian leaders who are awake to the seriousness of the crisis are only dimly aware that the culture war at its foundation is and has always been a winner-take-all contest between Christians and homosexual activists. Now that the last secular barriers to the “gay” agenda have been crushed, all of their weapons and all of their warriors will be focused on the last remaining obstacle to their power, the Christian church.
What comes next is a full-on homosexual blitzkrieg against “homophobia” and “hatred” in the church, and a concurrent culture-wide advocacy of “gay theology.” Gone, of course, will be all concern for the “separation of church and state” as the secular powers work hand-in-hand with the “gays” to shame and “correct” the Bible-believing church, using Scripture that has been deviously twisted to fit their goals. The only defense will be Biblical literacy backed unshakable faith. To be blunt, we will be all be vilified and only the strong of faith will endure.
To be sure, one’s view of homosexuality is not necessarily a salvation issue, but one’s ability to cling to Christ through persecution may well be. Will a person too spiritually weak or cowardly to defend Biblical truth on such a clear and fundamental teaching be strong enough to resist the Mark of the Beast? During a time of testing such as we are entering, the Prophet Jeremiah put it this way: “If you have run with footmen and they have tired you out, Then how can you compete with horses? If you fall down in a land of peace, How will you do in the thicket of the Jordan?”
It might not be noticeable now, but their campaign has been launched and will steadily increase in breadth, depth and persuasiveness. Remnant, be prepared, and share this warning.
