City Liberated from ISIS or ISIS Liberated from City?

City Liberated from ISIS or ISIS Liberated from City?

By Julio Severo
President Donald Trump hailed the defeat of ISIS last October in the Syrian city of Raqqa — the last major urban stronghold of Islamic State (ISIS).
Picture shows heavily-armed ISIS men in masks and combat gear huddled into the back of vehicles that formed a huge convoy
Reportedly, U.S.-backed forces fully liberated Raqqa, the former self-proclaimed capital of ISIS in Syria.
Trump said, “ISIS strongholds in Mosul and Raqqa” have been liberated “as a result” of orders he gave to U.S. commanders during his first days in office. “We have made, alongside our coalition partners, more progress against these evil terrorists in the past several months than in the past several years.”
These “U.S.-backed forces” and “U.S. coalition partners” included Saudi Arabia and Syrian rebels, supported formerly by Obama and now supported by Trump.
Result? Even though many reports have indicated a full victory with an expected extinction of ISIS in its capital in Syria, the reality was different. There was no extinction.
According to DailyMail, 4,000 ISIS militants and their families were reportedly allowed to leave Raqqa in a long four-mile convoy, adding: “Witnesses said it included ‘huge’ numbers of foreign fighters – including some English speakers — who are said to have since spread out across Syria and into Turkey, potentially en route to Europe.”
ISIS in 2014
The ISIS convoy was carrying tons of weapons and ammunition. ISIS terrorists were allowed to leave carrying AK47s sat on top of some of the trucks and squeezed into trailers.
The “U.S.-backed forces” and “U.S. coalition partners” monitored the convoy from the air, dropping flares to help ISIS drivers in the 163 vehicles, including lorries and buses, navigate the road.
My heart cries because when Christians in Syria and Iraq were being decimated by ISIS, there were no “U.S.-backed forces” and “U.S. coalition partners” monitoring and protecting Christian convoys to escape ISIS. In fact, while ISIS has modern, American cars, Christians persecuted by ISIS had no modern cars to escape.
They had no tons of weapons and ammunition to defend themselves from ISIS.
Christians did not escape, because no one helped them. ISIS escaped.
US and its Muslim allies “against” ISIS
Even though the Trump administration wanted to exterminate ISIS terrorists, Saudi Arabia allowed them to leave and to move to other parts of Syria.
How could this sad result be different? Syrian rebels have largely helped ISIS and fought against the Syrian government, the only real local resistance to ISIS.
Like ISIS, Syrian rebels, supported by Saudi Arabia and the U.S. since Obama, also persecute and slaughter Christians.
Saudi Arabia had no permission to invade Syria, but even so it did it.
Had United States under Obama and has the United Sates under Trump permission to invade Syria? No, but even so they did it. If Trump wanted to fight ISIS in Syria, he could not have a partnership with Saudi Arabia, an ally of ISIS. And he needed permission from the Syrian government and to stop funding and arming Syrian rebels who since Obama fight to overthrow the Syrian government.
Russia is in Syria by direct permission of the Syrian government. It is doubtful that Russia would allow ISIS terrorists to escape Raqqa. But the U.S. and its coalition partners did just it.
Christians in the West can never forget that ISIS is a machine of genocide against Christians in Syria and Iraq.
Why did the U.S. and its coalition partners allow this machine of genocide to escape?
It is time for the U.S. to sit at the table and invite Syria to be a partner, because only Syria has been fighting decisively against ISIS.
It is time for the U.S. to apologize for supporting Syrian rebels since Obama and for invading Syria without the permission of its government.
It is time for the U.S. to apologize to Syria because Obama created ISIS, which has devastated the Syrian Christian population.
If the U.S. can have Saudi Arabia, the main sponsor of Islamic terrorism around the world and no friend of Christians, as a partner, why cannot the U.S. have as a partner Syria, whose Christian population was the main victim of Saudi-backed ISIS?
Obama made a genocidal mess against Christians in Syria. The mess continues.
Raqqa was not liberated from ISIS. ISIS was liberated from Raqqa.

Why Is Israel Saving Islamic Terrorists?

Why Is Israel Saving Islamic Terrorists?

Eighty percent of wounded Syrians receiving medical care in Israel are Islamic male rebels against Christians and Assad. Just 20 per cent of Syrians treated by Israel are civilians

By Julio Severo
I have watched some propaganda videos of Israel giving medical care to wounded Syrians. Such propaganda intends to put Israel in a very positive light in the public eyes. As an evangelical Christian who supports Israel, I love every kind act of Israel.
Israeli soldiers rescuing a wounded Syrian Islamic militant
Yet, I have found some disturbing facts about Israel’s medical assistance to Syrians.
A report from the Israeli newspaper Times of Israel, headlined “Israel acknowledges it is helping Syrian rebel fighters,” said, “Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon said Monday that Israel has been providing aid to Syrian rebels” and “has been helping forces that are fighting to overthrow Syrian President Bashar Assad.”
“Ya’alon said of the Israeli medical aid to the Syrian rebels, some of whom are presumably fighting with al-Qaeda affiliate al-Nusra Front to topple Syrian President Bashar Assad,” said Times of Israel, adding, “Israel has treated over 1,000 wounded Syrians in its hospitals since the onset of the civil war in 2011.”
Another prominent Israeli newspaper, The Jerusalem Post, in a report headlined “Israel treating al-Qaida fighters wounded in Syria civil war,” said, “Israel has opened its borders with Syria in order to provide medical treatment to Nusra Front and al-Qaida fighters wounded in the ongoing civil war.”
The Jerusalem Post added, “Israel has provided medical assistance to nearly 2,000 Syrians… ‘an Israeli military official’… said that most of those treated were armed rebels fighting the regime.”
Confirming the Israeli reports, in a report titled “Heartstopping footage shows Israeli commandos rescuing wounded men from Syrian warzone — but WHY are they risking their lives for Islamic militants?” British newspaper DailyMail said that elite Israeli troops have rescued mostly wounded male Syrians from the Syrian war almost every night.
DailyMail noted, “Israel insists that these treacherous nightly rescues are purely humanitarian, and that it can only hope to ‘win hearts and minds’ in Syria. But analysts suggest the Jewish state has in fact struck a deadly ‘deal with the devil’ — offering support to the Sunni militants,” who are “members of Jabhat al-Nusra, a Syrian group affiliated to Al Qaeda that has kidnapped scores of UN peacekeeping troops in this area, and has massacred Christians deeper in Syria.”
DailyMail also said, “In the three years that Israel has been running these operations, it has saved the lives of more than 2,000 Syrians – at least 80 per cent of whom are male and of fighting age – at a cost of 50 million shekels (£8.7 million),” adding that just “20 per cent of the Syrians treated by Israel are civilians.”
There is a genocide of Christians in advanced progress in Syria. Whatever Israel’s military strategy may be, elite Israeli troops are rescuing savage Islamic militants directly responsible for the genocide of Christian Syrians.
One year ago, Chaldean bishop of Aleppo, Antoine Audo, said that the Christian population in Syria has been reduced by two-thirds in five years — from 1.5 million to only 500,000.
Speaking at a press conference at the UN headquarters in Geneva, Audo said that only in Aleppo the Christian population was reduced from 160,000 to 40,000.
According to Breitbart, these remaining 40,000 Christians are pro-Assad and fear the Islamic rebels backed by the U.S. and Israel. They fear that if these rebels gain ground, Christians will become targets, both for their faith and their support of the Syrian government.

Who Is Fighting Whom in Syria — And What Has Israel’s Stance Been on Christian Suffering?

For six bitter years, the Syrian civil war has been raging less than a mile from Israel.
Israel has significant interests at stake in the Syrian war. Most obviously, Israel is concerned about Hezbollah’s role in the Syrian conflict. Because ISIS and Syrians rebels are enemies of Hezbollah, Israel supports them. From an Israeli viewpoint, it’s a case of “my enemy’s enemy is my friend.”
Yet, Hezbollah’s enemies are committing genocide against Syrian Christians.
Below is a summary of the main military actors in Syria, and what each one means for Christians and Israel.
Assad’s troops: The Syrian Army is significantly pro-Christian and, with the help of Russian air support, has been fighting ISIS and Syrian rebels. Israel sees more problems with Assad than with ISIS and Syrian rebels.
Hezbollah: The Shia Lebanese guerrilla organization works hand-in-glove with Iran in Syria. Hezbollah has been fighting ISIS and Syrian rebels, and Syrian Christians have faced no genocide from Hezbollah. Yet, Hezbollah is one of Israel’s most deadly enemies, having kidnapped a number of Israeli soldiers and fought several debilitating conflicts with the Jewish State.
Russia: Officially on friendly terms with Israel, Vladimir Putin has supported Assad. Conservative news site WorldNetDaily has said that the Russian presence in Syria is fighting terror and protecting Christians. Raymond Ibrahim, author of the best-selling book “Crucified Again” on Islamic persecution of Christians, has praised Russian efforts in Syria to protect Christians, but he has condemned U.S. efforts to help Christian-murdering Syrian rebels.
In a cover story of Decision magazine, Franklin Graham, son of the famous evangelist Billy Graham, said,
I have never heard Putin quote the Bible, but during his 2012 election campaign, he met with church leaders in Moscow and vowed to protect persecuted Christians around the world. That is one justification for his support of the Assad regime in Syria.
Syria, for all its problems, at least has a constitution that guarantees equal protection of citizens. Around the world, we have seen that this is essential where Christians are a minority and are not protected. The radicals in Syria want an Islamic constitution based on sharia law.
Christians have lived in Syria since the time of Christ. The Apostle Paul was on the road to Damascus when he met Christ. Christians in Syria know that if the radicals overthrow Assad, there will be widespread persecution and wholesale slaughter of Christians.
ISIS: The brutal jihadi group, which has become the number one enemy of Christians in Syria and Iraq, controls areas of Iraq and Syria which is home to five million people and is thought to earn more than $2billion a year.
Saudi Arabia: The Saudi Islamic dictatorship is the principal financial backer of the Sunni militants, including Islamist rebels linked to al-Qaida, who are fighting Assad. ISIS is also a Sunni group. Saudi Arabia is engaged in a long-term struggle for supremacy with Iran. It is understood that Saudi Arabia and the other Gulf states have a working relationship with Israel against Assad.
Shia militia: Iran has mobilized a multinational network of Shia militias in Syria to fight the Sunni networks of ISIS and al-Qaida. Israel sees Shia threat as a bigger than the ISIS threat. But for Syrian Christians, the ISIS threat is bigger than the Shia threat.
Al-Qaida: Various al-Qaida affiliate groups are fighting Assad in Syria, including the feared al-Nusra Front, also known as the Syrian al-Qaida.
Syrian rebels: A range of Islamic militants opposed to Assad are referred to generally as the Free Syrian Army. They have no immediate desire to fight Israel, but share the general hatred of the Jewish state that dominates in Syria. They have also been slaughtering Syrian Christians. They receive support from the United States and Europe.
United States: As a secretary of State under Obama and a staunch defender of the military-industrial-intelligence complex, Hillary Clinton helped to spread violence stretching from Libya to Afghanistan.
Perhaps her crowning disaster was her relentless promotion of CIA-led regime change in Syria. With CIA support, which gave and gives arms and training to Islamic rebels, Hillary wanted to overthrow Bashir al-Assad and she said that it would be quick, costless, and surely successful. In August 2011, Hillary led the U.S. into disaster with her declaration Assad must “get out of the way,” backed by secret CIA operations.
Six years later, no place on the planet is more ravaged by unending war. The Syrian Christian population has been virtually decimated, more than 10 million Syrians are displaced, and Syrian refugees are undermining the political stability of the European Union. Into the chaos created by the secret CIA-Saudi operations to overthrow Assad, ISIS has filled the vacuum, and has used Syria as the base for worldwide terrorist attacks.
Trump seems to have learnt no lessons from Hillary’s disasters in Syria and he has been buying into the CIA propaganda that Assad should be deposed. As the Obama administration, the Trump administration has not done anything to rescue Syrian Christians from Hillary’s and Obama’s violence in Syria.
This is the chaotic picture in Syria and U.S. interventions, with Saudi assistance, are not helping Christians.
Israel is absolutely right in fighting for its Promised Land, especially against the Palestinian aggression. But Israel is absolutely wrong in helping Islamic radicals.
Israel should use its high military capabilities, and its elite troops, to rescue Christian victims in Syria. But by helping Islamic terrorists who are committing genocide against Christians, Israel is backsliding from God’s purpose.
God is absolutely right when he says about Israel: “My people are bent to backsliding from me.” (Hosea 11:7 Authorized Version)
The United States has received thousands of Islamic Syrian refugees and granted them visas, housing, food and jobs. Israel has treated thousands of wounded Islamic Syrians. Could not they do much more for Syrian Christians? Cannot they receive thousands of Christians in their lands? Why not?
Both Israel and the United States could use their commandos to rescue Christians from the genocide ISIS and al-Qaida are committing against them. Why do not they do it?

Syria Condemns Invasion of U.S. Troops in Its Territory

Syria Condemns Invasion of U.S. Troops in Its Territory

By Julio Severo
Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said U.S. forces in Syria are invaders because they were there, since Obama, without government permission.
He also said that he has yet to see anything concrete from President Donald Trump regarding his campaign promise to defeat Islamic State.
While Trump talks about fighting ISIS, Syria is actually fighting ISIS and several Islamic terrorist groups, including rebels backed, since Obama, by the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.
Assad, in an interview with Chinese TV station Phoenix, said he is open for cooperation with Trump, but that Trump has not shown the same openness. The Russian military presence in Syria fighting ISIS has the full permission and cooperation from the Syrian government.
Assad said Trump’s campaign pledge to prioritize the defeat of Islamic State had been “a promising approach” but added: “We haven’t seen anything concrete yet regarding this rhetoric.”
Asked about a deployment of U.S. forces near the northern Syrian city of Manbij, Assad said: “Any foreign troops coming to Syria without our invitation… are invaders.”
The U.S.-led coalition has been attacking Islamic State in Syria for several years, since Obama. Obama’s attacks against ISIS never produced any positive results, especially for Syrian Christians, who have been the main victims of this Islamic terrorist group.
Yet, why should Trump imitate Obama and his antidemocratic interventions in foreign territories?
If Trump wants to fight ISIS in Syria, he needs the official permission from the Syrian government. Obama and his warmongering State Secretary Hillary Clinton never sought such permission. Obama just invaded and deployed his troops in Syria without any permission. In fact, according to Trump himself, Obama created ISIS.
Is the U.S. government at the service of Islamic terrorism? After all, by the U.S. laws, he who aides and abets a terrorist group is an accomplice of terrorism. And if ISIS is responsible for the genocide of Christians in Syria and Iraq, did Obama make the U.S. government an accomplice of the genocide of those Christians?
Why is not Obama judged for making the U.S. government an accomplice of genocide of Christians?
So, considering that Trump has already acknowledged that ISIS was created by Obama, it would be appropriate for Trump to apologize, on behalf of the U.S. government, to the Syrian government and people for the U.S. actions, under Obama, that made havoc in Syria and sacrificed its Christian population. The U.S. has a moral obligation to apologize to Syria, not mentioning making reparations.
If Trump wants to help Syrian Christians persecuted by the ISIS, his first step is to revoke his ban on Syria, or at least on Syrian Christians. On behalf of the U.S. government, Trump should apologize to them for Obama’s actions against them, especially by creating ISIS. The U.S. has a moral obligation to help and shelter Syrian Christians, including with reparations.
About actions against ISIS, Trump should do what Obama never did: ask permission from the Syrian government. Whether you agree or not with a government, this is not an excuse for you to invade this country, especially if wicked actions of your government made havoc in the nation you intend to invade.
Or Trump can support Russian efforts in Syria to defeat ISIS.
I have fully supported Trump’s actions to protect the U.S. borders from invaders. He has a right to protect his nation and people wishing to enter the U.S. need the proper permission. Yet, if Trump wants no invaders in his nation, he should not invade any nation.
Most 9/11 terrorists were Saudis. Even so, the U.S. has never invaded Saudi Arabia. On the contrary, last month, the Trump administration sent the CIA director to reward Saudi Arabia for fighting Islamic terror.
So to Saudi Arabia, which helped the U.S. government under Obama create ISIS, the Trump administration grants a crazy award, and to Syria, which was a victim of ISIS, does the Trump administration grant bans and military invasions? By far, this is not fair! This is craziness. This is sheer injustice.
If Trump wants to invade Saudi Arabia, with or without permission, I understand. If Trump wants to ban Saudi travelers and immigrants, I understand. But I do not understand his action against Syria. These actions are similar to Obama’s actions.
Syria, especially its Christians, is waiting an official apology from the U.S. government for its military invasions, since Obama, in its territory and for the creation of ISIS.
Recently, Trump invited Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to visit the White House. Conservative U.S. President Ronald Reagan would never have done it. In fact, Reagan never invited the leader of Palestinians for anything and he threatened to boycott his presence even at the United Nations. If Trump can invite an Islamic Palestinian leader fighting Israel, why cannot he invite Assad to offer apologies and reparations and, especially, offer assistance to his fight against ISIS?
If Obama gave military assistance to ISIS and Islamic rebels fighting Assad and the Syrian Christian population, why cannot Trump offer military assistance to Assad and the Syrian Christian population? Is not this fair enough?
Syria, especially its Christians, has been a victim of a wicked U.S. interventionism. Syria, especially its Christians, deserves an apology, not a ban.
Syria, especially its Christians, deserves U.S. military assistance against ISIS and Islamic rebels who received military assistance from Obama.
Even though Syria has one of the oldest Christian communities in the world, my spiritual connection, as an evangelical, is with evangelical Christians in the United States, and I appreciate that Trump has been advised by several good evangelical and charismatic leaders.
I hope and pray that these good advisers encourage Trump to apologize to Syrian Christians and impose a ban on Saudi Arabia, instead of Syrian Christians.
I am not a Trump adviser, but if allowed to offer an advice, as a conservative evangelical Christian, these are my words.

Exclusive Interview with William J. Murray, Defender of Persecuted Christians

Exclusive Interview with William J. Murray, Defender of Persecuted Christians

By Julio Severo
William J. Murray, who is known for his incredible work of helping persecuted Christians, is the son of one of the most famous atheists and Marxists in America, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, founder of American Atheists. When she enrolled William in the school in the early 1960s, she was enraged at prayers and mentions of God in the school setting. Her lawsuit led to a landmark Supreme Court ruling officially banning Bible reading in American public schools in 1963.
Mike Huckabee and William J. Murray
If there is an American today who can explain about the malignant effect of atheism and Marxism is William Murray. His history is of Marxist tragedy and Christian redemption.
I am much honored to have Dr. Murray as my special guest for this exclusive interview for the Brazilian public. He is the chairman of the Religious Freedom Coalition in Washington, DC. For more than three decades, he has been at the forefront of defending the religious freedom of Christians. During the early 1980’s he served as director of Freedom’s Friends, an organization that reached out to the victims of communism worldwide. In the 1990’s he founded the first commercial Bible publishing company in the Soviet Union. For many years his organizations operated evangelistic tours to the Soviet Union to distribute Bibles and preach the Gospel.
William J. Murray and Senator Ted Cruz
As the Soviet Union collapsed and the “stans” were released from Communist rule, William Murray warned of a coming great Islamic Jihad against the secular West. On September 11th, 2001, he was driving past the Pentagon on his way to a news conference supporting the Sudan Peace Act when American Airlines Flight 77 crashed into that building. Before the end of September Murray ran ads in national newspapers pointing out that there was no distinguishable difference between the Saudi and Taliban governments.
From his office in Washington, DC, William J. Murray continues to work for the rights of Christians in America and persecuted Christians around the world. Under his guidance the Religious Freedom Coalition assists Christian refugees from Iraq and Syria as well as Palestinian Christian families and Christian schools in the West Bank. He has traveled to the Middle East and Africa numerous times. Murray has been a part of fact-finding mission in such areas as Kosovo, Sudan, Morocco, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan and China.
He also directs the Christmas for Refugees program that conducts Christmas dinners for Christian refugee children from Iraq and Syria.
Rand Paul and William J. Murray
William J. Murray has appeared on ABC, CBS, CNN, and NBC nightly news as well as various Fox News programs. He is a regular guest on numerous radio talk shows. He also speaks at numerous conferences and church events each year. He is the author of seven books including his best-selling autobiography, My Life Without God, detailing his childhood in the dysfunctional home of atheist/Marxist leader Madalyn Murray O’Hair.
His view is that the U.S. should work with Russia to fight the biggest threat to the Western civilization: radical Islam — as reported by him in a WND article titled “Main threat to U.S., Russia: Radical Islam, not each other.” Franklin Graham, the president of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, has the same view.
Now here is his interview:
Julio Severo: You have an organization to help Christians persecuted by the Islamic State in Syria and Iraq. Could you talk about what is happening to these Christians?
William J. Murray: Not only the Islamic State, but al-Qaeda linked groups such as al-Nusra have persecuted Christians in Syria. In extreme cases Christian men and boys in their early teens have been beheaded for refusing to convert to Islam. Some have been crucified. Many captured married Christian women have been forced into Mut’a or temporary marriages with fighters. Many of these so called “marriages” last not more than an hour. Some women face up to ten of these “marriages” a day which are actually rapes with permission of Imams. Younger Christian girls who are virgins are forced into permanent marriages with Islamic fighters.
In Syria as well as Islamic State controlled areas of Iraq Christians have been forced from their homes. In Mosul, Iraq Christians were forced out and their homes were given to their Muslim neighbors. The population of Christians in Iraq had been reduced by 75% in the last decade.
Julio Severo: Have you travelled and personally talked to persecuted Christians in Syria and Iraq? How has been this experience?
William J. Murray: On numerous occasions I have traveled to Jordan, Lebanon and Iraq. My last visit to Jordan and Iraq occurred in September, 2015. I traveled to the Kurdish areas of Iraq near Irbil where many of the Christians from Mosul and the Nineveh Plain have fled from. I have firsthand heard the horror stories of murder, robbery and rape of Christians at the hands of various Islamist groups some of which in Syria are supported by the United States in an effort to overthrow the secular government of Syria and establish a Saudi approved Sunni government.
Julio Severo: In our phone talk, you said that the church has often forgotten charity because the government has dominated “assistance for the poor,” with no love and voluntary acts, but forcing citizens to pay for its welfare programs. Could you tell us more on this?
William J. Murray: As Christians we are instructed by the New Testament to care for those in need. To that end throughout the history of the church it has provided for the poor, the widows and the orphans until the 20th century. The United States has tens of dozens of hospitals named for saints or with denominational names in them. Most were opened as charitable endeavors. These hospitals have been sold to private companies, are now operated by municipalities or are operated by churches on behalf of the government. Christian hospitals now receive most of their funding from Medicare, Medicaid patients. As a result these hospitals must serve as the government directs.
Bluntly – The church has abdicated the charge given by Jesus and his disciples. Rather than minister to the poor churches now run classes teaching the poor how to get more from government. Some churches now run daycare and other programs financed by the government at a profit to church. The concern is federal funding to keep employment numbers high and not the Gospel.
Julio Severo: How could the church help widows and orphans without government dependence?
William J. Murray: A church should provide the needs of the poor in its community as it best can with the resources it has. Regardless, the church should not become an instrument of Caesar in the community.
Julio Severo: How did you learn about the perils of government replacing individual voluntary charity and love acts?
William J. Murray: One need only look at the outcome when churches are told that a cross may not be displayed in a classroom and that prayer may not be offered before the children’s lunch that the government pays for. If the Gospel is excluded the funds or government services have become a god to the church rather than the God we should serve.
Julio Severo: So in the past, you thought that government control over everything, including family affairs and Christianity, was the solution. Could you elaborate on your past socialist views on government intrusion?
William J. Murray: I was raised in Marxist home and for my early life Marxist-Leninist study classes were my Sunday school. My family was not socialist, but Marxist and there is a huge difference as there are various types of socialism including National Socialism, which is the Nazi variety. The socialism of Europe is a cultural socialism that is financed by Capitalism. That is not Marxism. In true Marxist society all property in belongs to the State as does all production. The purest definition of Marxism is “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” Put another way: “Work as hard as you can and put everything you make in a big pot. When you have ‘needs’ take out of the pot even if you placed nothing into it.”
My family was dysfunctional and unable for the most part to care for itself thus Marxism was a solution for them. As I grew out of my teen years, I was productive and Marxism no longer made any sense to me. This began my movement toward rational concepts and the Gospel.
Julio Severo: Your mother, Madalyn Murray O’Hair, founder of American Atheists, was best known for her lawsuit that led to a landmark Supreme Court officially ruling banning Bible-reading in American public schools in 1963. What were your view on the Bible in that time? How did Marxism mold your view on the Bible?
William J. Murray: My mother’s initial complaint was not just about prayer but also the Pledge of Allegiance. She had discovered this in the schools by accident when she reenrolled me after an attempted defection to the Soviet Union. I was totally indoctrinated to view the Bible as a distorted view of history. More about that can be read in my first book, My Life Without God, which is still in print after 30 years.
Julio Severo: How radical were you and your mother in Marxism?
William J. Murray: My mother was at one time the manager of the Communist Party bookstore in Baltimore, Maryland. She was also the chairman of the Marxist Fair Play for Cuba Committee in Maryland. The most famous member of the group was Lee Harvey Oswald [assassin of the U.S. President John F. Kennedy]. Her radical Marxism of course was derived from her inability to hold down a job. Contrary to common belief, communists do not aggressively recruit on college campuses but rather on unemployment lines.
Julio Severo: What changed you?
William J. Murray: The change in my life was one that evolved rather than sudden. The Marxism went first as I discovered its failings and demands. Unlike my dysfunctional family I was able to do well in the private sector working almost from my early years in management. I held several management positions with airlines. Suddenly I found myself on the required “in the pot” side of the socialist equation rather than the “take form the pot” side. I moved rapidly politically taking the Ayn Randian libertarian view, which is also atheistic. My position became one of a social Darwinist believing that those unable to feed themselves should probably just starve to death to make a better planet for those of us who are productive.
Julio Severo: After you knew Jesus Christ, how this spiritual experience changed your view on government, charity, family affairs and other issues?
William J. Murray: My relationship with Jesus Christ came about through the self-centered and destructive lifestyle I had learned from my family and my new found atheistic social Darwinist lifestyle which including alcohol and drugs. Fortunately the Lord reached down and lifted me from the horror of that lifestyle.
Julio Severo: When you were a Marxist, how did you see the plight of persecuted Christians? How did you see the U.S.? How did you see the Soviet Union?
William J. Murray: Keeping in mind that I was teenager at the time I was being raised in a Marxist home there were, according to my mother, only trouble making counter revolutionary Christians in the Soviet Union and other communist nations who needed to be controlled, even imprisoned. As for the United States our family viewed it as a fascist state much like Franco’s Spain with a phony freedom that only allowed the people to vote for one of two political parties controlled by the Capitalists of Wall Street.
Julio Severo: Now as a Christian, how do you see the plight of persecuted Christians? How do you see the U.S.? How do you see Russia?
William J. Murray: “As a Christian” is an interesting opening to a question in a nation that allows anyone to declare what they are regardless of actual beliefs. Most of the “Christians” in the United States today do not believe in the basic tenets of Christianity such as the virgin birth of our Lord or a literally hell. As a Christian that does believe the Bible is the actual Word of God I see the United States and Russia as having swopped roles. Today the United States as a government threatens Christians to accept a secular worldview including sodomy as a human right. One the other hand the government of Russia today encourages the church to the point of allowing religious instruction in public schools and bans the distribution of homosexual material to those under 18 years of age. President Obama and the media cite Russia as being “undemocratic” for following a more Biblical social policy.
Julio Severo: How do you see U.S. President Barack Obama in his relationship with Christian values and persecuted Christians? Is Obama a friend or enemy of conservative values? What is his relationship with Marxism and especially Islam, which has been slaughtering about 100,000 Christians a year?
William J. Murray: The numbers are just astounding. Christians of the various Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant traditions in Syria constituted 10 percent of Syria’s population before Saudi paid “rebels” began their attacks on the secular government. But only 2.6 percent of the 2,003 Syrian refugees that the United States has accepted since then are Christians. The only conclusion is that the Obama Administration is deliberately blocking Christians, who face the worst persecution from the Islamic State in Syria!
Over the past five years of the Saudi sponsored civil war in Syria, the United States has admitted a grand total of 53 Syrian Christian refugees and just one Yazidi, despite all the media attention on the Yazidi situation last year. Meanwhile, Obama has deported 27 Chaldean Christians who entered the United States illegally and asked for asylum last year while he imported tens of thousands of Somali Muslims because they face “persecution” in a Muslim nation.
Obama is a utopianist, not necessarily a Marxist. The vast majority of people do not understand the social decease of utopianism that has caused death and destruction on Earth for two thousand years. The worst examples of utopian totalitarianism were exhibited in the 20th century and included not only Marxist but National Socialist governments. I have a chapter on modern utopianists including Barack Obama in my new book, Utopian Road to Hell, which will be released in March 2016.
Julio Severo: How do you see Russian President Vladimir Putin in his relationship with Christian values and persecuted Christians? Is Putin a friend or enemy of conservative values? What is his relationship with Marxism and especially Islam?
William J. Murray: There is no relationship between Islam and Marxism other than both subscribe to central power and believe in a utopian construct on Earth. One is centered on economic magic thought and the other is an intolerant social-economic-religious system. President Putin, I believe, has a better understanding of the Islamic threat to the civilized world than does Barack Obama. The failure to have a rational view is not specific to Obama as Senator John McCain holds the same views on Islam as does the President.
This is exemplified in the fact that most Republican leaders, with the exception of Senator Rand Paul, agree with Obama that Saudi King Salman, who crucified a young Shiite in November for participating in an anti-government demonstration, is a good Muslim. On the other hand they view the Islamic State Muslims who have crucified people for blasphemy as “bad Muslims.” Obama and McCain also believe, or say they believe, that the goal of the Saudi sponsored Sunni revolt against the secular government of Syria is meant to establish a democracy. Vladimir Putin does not suffer from this kind of magic think. The difference may well be the economic impact of Saudi Arabian wealth on the United States while Russia is a competitor of Saudi Arabia.
Julio Severo: Neocons say that Soviet Marxism is exclusively to blame for the current U.S. role imposing immoralities, including abortion and sodomy, around the world. They also say that Russia’s conservative stances are a strategy to deceive and dominate the world. Do you agree with them?
William J. Murray: The real issue is “world order” as recently summed up by Defense Secretary Ash Carter. Neocons, the defense establishment and most Republican and Democratic leaders view U.S economic and military dominance of the world as the “world order.” Any threat to that dominance is “warlike.” Thus Chinese economic expansion and Russia’s push back at NATO’s expansion to the Russian border is viewed as a threat to “world order.” The clash between the United States and nations such as China, Russia and Iran has to do with strategic issues of military and economic dominance, not morality. The moral issues on the other hand are a historic decrease of empire in general. Empires as single dominant powers always become corrupt morally and inflict their immorality on others. The current dominant empire, the United States, is no different.
