United Nations praises the Pope for backing same-sex unions: secretary-general of the U.N. welcomes Francis’s remarks that homosexuals “have a right to a family” in move which has enraged conservative Catholics

The secretary-general of the United Nations has praised the Pope’s historic comments in support of same-sex civil unions after Francis said homosexuals are “children of God and have a right to a family.”

UN chief Antonio Guterres said the papal support was “extremely welcome” after Francis’s words sparked cheers from left-wing Catholics and outrage from conservative Catholics.

“This is a clear demonstration of a fundamental principle, which is the principle of nondiscrimination,” said Guterres in New York. “And one of the things that has been very clear in the UN doctrine on this is that non-discrimination is also relevant in the questions of sexual orientation. So this is decision of the Pope is, of course, extremely welcome from our perspective.”

Guterres, who identifies himself as a Catholic, was, from 1999 to 2005, the president of the Socialist International. He was also Secretary-General of the Socialist Party of Portugal, from 1992 to 2002.

It is just natural for Guterres to praise anything homosexual, because he has condemned traditional masculinity.

Socialism is the major factor leading Catholics, including the pope, to anticonservative stances.

Francis’s comments emerged in a new documentary, produced by a gay activist, in which he said that “what we have to create is a civil union law,” a position at odds with the official teaching of the Catholic Church.

Catholic teaching says that homosexuals must be treated with dignity and respect but that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered.” A 2003 document from the Vatican stated the Catholic Church’s respect for homosexuals “cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behavior or to legal recognition of homosexual unions.”

Doing so, the Vatican reasoned, would not only condone “deviant behavior,” but create an equivalence to marriage, which the Catholic Church holds is an indissoluble union between man and woman.

That document was signed by then Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger, the future Pope Benedict XVI and Francis’ predecessor.

Conservative Catholics think that with Ratzinger as a pope, any acceptance of homosexual acts or homosexual “marriage” would be impossible. But he had to leave its papacy perhaps because of a scandal about to explode: a Catholic school administrated by his brother was involved in a staggering scandal of 547 boys abused, including homosexually.

The scandal has been shrouded in mystery and silence as nothing has been mentioned if Ratzinger’s brother was homosexual or how many homosexual priests raped the boys.

Homosexuality among Catholic priests is the only cause of sexual abuse of boys in the Catholic Church.

French homosexual author Frédéric Martel said that “a very large majority of priests and Vatican cardinals, 80% perhaps, would be homosexuals.” But Steve Bannon said that “it’s not 80%, but rather 90%.”

Bannon intended to launch a film exposing the Vatican’s homosexual scandals, but he was involved in scandals himself.

Even though Bannon is against Francis, his reasons have nothing to do with homosexuality. Martel said about Bannon and his right-wing fight against Pope Francis:

“He thinks like me that the battle is no longer played in Rome between pro-Francis cardinals who would be gay or gay-friendly, and anti-Francis cardinals who would be homophobic and heterosexual. Everyone, on the right, as on the left, would be fairly homophile or homosexual. Steve Bannon has no problem with this observation: he also came to it himself. I suddenly understand the plan of Catholic Bannon. The Church may have to abandon its moral positions on sexuality that are hypocritical, anachronistic and, given the large number of gay cardinals in the Vatican, schizophrenic.”

By their perspective, the Catholic Church is divided between left-wing homosexual Catholic priests who want to liberalize homosexuality and right-wing homosexual Catholic priests who want to keep the Catholic doctrine about homosexuality.

The problem is that regardless if the homosexual priest is left-wing or right-wing, homosexuality is connected to sexual abuse of boys. The evidence is the Catholic Church itself, where multitudes of boys have been raped by homosexual priests. If Martel is correct in his view that there are left-wing and right-wing homosexual priests in the Catholic Church, it follows that boys have been raped by left-wing and right-wing homosexual priests.

Pope Francis is open to socialist causes, including homosexuality, because he is open to Liberation Theology and he has been very harsh against conservative Christians opposed to the gay agenda. Left-wing homosexual Catholics support him. Right-wing homosexual Catholics oppose him.

Yet, both left-wing and right-wing homosexuals should know that in the Bible God condemns all homosexuality, regardless ideological issues. Both left-wing and right-wing homosexual sinners cannot inherit God’s Kingdom.

Francis was wrong to say that “homosexuals are children of God.” To be a child of God, a man must first receive Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of his life. Only after giving his life to Jesus does he become a child of God. The Bible said,

“To all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God.” (John 1:12 ESV)

So while a man does not accept Jesus’ deliverance and salvation, he is only a creature of God.

The removal of Francis and left-wing homosexual priests from the Vatican will not remove the problem of homosexuality in the Catholic Church as “conservative” homosexual priests sin more silently, even abusing boys. If the Catholic Church wants to solve its homosexual problem, it should not tolerate open left-wing homosexuality and silent right-right homosexuality, because both victimize boys.

Pope Francis became the first pontiff to endorse same-sex civil unions in comments for a documentary that premiered on October 21, 2020, sparking cheers from left-wing Catholics and concerns from conservative Catholics, because the Vatican’s official teaching is against the homosexual sin.

The film, titled Francesco, which premiered at the Rome Film Festival, features fresh interviews with the pope and delves into left-wing issues Francis cares about most, including the environment, poverty, migration, racial and income inequality, and the people most affected by discrimination. It is, therefore, a left-wing film.

“Homosexual people have the right to be in a family. They are children of God,” Francis said. “You can’t kick someone out of a family, nor make their life miserable for this. What we have to have is a civil union law; that way they are legally covered.”

Catholic teaching says that homosexuals must be treated with dignity and respect but that homosexual acts are “intrinsically disordered.” A 2003 document from the Vatican stated the Catholic Church’s respect for homosexuals “cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behavior or to legal recognition of homosexual unions.”

Pedophilia By Any Other Name is Still Homosexuality

As scientists, we are concerned about recent discussions regarding clergy sexual abuse. Numerous authors, like a recent Chilean post by Riccardo Cascioli (February 8, 2018), seem to believe there is a significant difference between ‘pedophiles’ and homosexuals.

Indeed, Riccardo Cascioli re-makes a point often made: “the so-called ‘pedophilia cases’ are actually an overwhelming majority of incidents of homosexuality”[1] where

“pedophilia properly refers to the attraction of adults for pre-pubescent children. When such attraction is directed towards teenagers, one must instead speak of ephebophilia which is initiated by homosexual persons. This is what we are talking about in Chile, but it also is true for at least 80% of the cases which erroneously reported in the news as cases of pedophilia in the Catholic Church. This is at least the conclusion which emerges from the reports of John Jay College on the cases of abuse registered in the Catholic Church in the United States.… [These facts allow] us to say clearly that the problem in the Catholic Church is not pedophilia but homosexuality.” 

While we heartily agree that the problem is one of homosexuality, we would make five points:

1.      ‘Pedophilia’ is not an exclusive orientation.

The definition of ‘pedophilia’ as used by American psychiatrists focuses on the client and does not assume his sexual interests lay solely with children. Laymen, on the other hand, tend to use the term as an exclusive preference. In the American Psychiatric Association (APA) Diagnostic and Statistical Manual (DSM IV, 2000), a ‘pedophile’ is an adult who has,

“over a period of at least 6 months, recurrent, intense sexually arousing fantasies, sexual urges, or behaviors involving sexual activities with a prepubescent child or children (generally age 13 years or younger). B. The person has acted on these urges, or the sexual urges or fantasies cause marked distress or interpersonal difficulty.”

The John Jay reports do not provide enough information to determine how many perpetrators only had sex with children under the age of 13. In 1970, the Kinsey Institute[2] surveyed 671 randomly-selected gay males regarding the proportions of their homosexual “partners” who “were 16 or younger when you were 21 or older” (i.e., at least 5 years below the age of consent in California at the time of interview). Among the respondents, 77% said “none,” 23% said “half or less,” and no one said “more than half.” Thus, none claimed to be ‘pedophiles’ in the laymen’s sense, yet 23% admitted to having sex with boys.

In Alfred Kinsey’s original survey, 27% of 646 homosexual men and 2% of 222 homosexual women reported having homosexual sex with at least one partner aged 15 or under, and 10.2% of gays but no lesbians to having sex with children under the age of 13.[3]

2.      Many, probably most, child molesters victimize a range of ages, and may also engage sexually with adults.

Both the John Jay reports and our systematic compilation of news stories captured by Google News (2011-2015) indicate that about half of the sexual abuse victims of clergy were 12 and under. Table 1 is a partial summary of our data for news stories about religiously-affiliated perpetrators in which the age of the victim(s) was reported, compared against the John Jay results. In the Google News reports, 28 Catholic clergy perpetrators included at least some boy victims under the age of 13, while 24 perpetrators only victimized boys aged 13 and above. Note that homosexual child molesters accounted for the bulk of both perpetrators and victims, and heterosexual molesters more frequently abused older victims. The last two columns of Table 1 include results from all clergy-related news stories, including those which did not report victims’ ages.

It is unknown how many perpetrators who molested kids aged 12 and under would have preferred all of them to be pre-teens; time and opportunity play large roles in who gets molested. For example, teachers who were caught almost always stuck to the age of those in their classroom. All we know is what was reported about the age of victims at the time the perpetrator made the news, not his mental state.

Importantly, anyone trying to differentiate the sexual preferences or ‘orientations’ of those who molest pre-teens (less than 13) vs. teenagers (more than 13) must account for the testimonies of molested boys. These usually indicate that the sexual contacts lasted a few (2-5) years. So, if a boy is listed as 14 in a news report, he may have recently been molested, but more likely his molestation began when he was between 10 to 12. Thus, when Fr. James Talbot of Freeport Maine was listed as having 17 victims aged 9 to 17, we know some, and perhaps all, of the boys were first recruited as pre-teens.

It is also noteworthy that those who engage in homosexuality may also have sex with the opposite sex. Perhaps 10-20% exclusively have sex with their own sex. Further, those who engage homosexually with adults may also engage in sex with children.

3.      The corrosive influence of homosexuals in positions of authority was well known generations ago.

Three generations ago, in 1950, U.S. government officials testified before Congress that

“Most of the authorities agree and our investigation [which included psychiatric testimony] has shown that the presence of a sex pervert in a Government agency tends to have a corrosive influence on his fellow employees. These perverts will frequently attempt to entice normal individuals to engage in perverted practices. This is particularly true in the case of young and impressionable people who might come under the influence of a pervert.

“Government officials have the responsibility of keeping this type of corrosive influence out of the agencies under their control. It is particularly important that the thousands of young men and women who are brought into Federal jobs not be subjected to that type of influence while in the service of the Government. One homosexual can pollute a Government office.”[4]

That same year, the U.S. Subcommittee on Investigations of the Senate Committee on Expenditures in the Executive Departments concluded “that homosexuals were not qualified for federal employment and that they represented a security risk because they could be blackmailed about their sexuality. In response to this report, President Eisenhower issued an executive order dismissing all homosexuals from federal employment,...”[5]

4.      The Christian Church historically condemned all forms of homosexual child sexual abuse.

While the Old Testament condemned homosexuality, it only obliquely mentioned the predilections of homosexuals toward youth, referring to boy prostitutes. The Christian Church amplified this by explicitly condemning the homosexual seduction of boys. At that time, the Jewish standard for adulthood was age 13 for males, which approximated the sign of adulthood in the Roman world, when boys donned the tunic (14-15 years old). So the Catholic Church probably regarded ‘corruption of boys’ as seduction or attempted recruitment before the age of about 15. Further, there is no evidence that the Catholic Church distinguished between pre-teens and teenagers — sodomy is just as painful and injurious in either case.

5.      ‘Mental healthism’ is not the answer.

Making a distinction between pre-teens (less than 13) and teenagers (more than 13) — a distinction apparently irrelevant to homosexual molesters and past investigators — does nothing to protect boys. Let the mental health ‘experts’ argue about whether raping boys of this or that age indicates a different ‘orientation’ — it is still male-on-male homosexuality. Calling a skunk by a different name does not make it stink any less. And is either worse, abusing a pre-teen or a teenager? The Catholic Church should not defer to those who would parse the homosexual nature of these sexual crimes into a narrow slice, as if somehow a fundamentally different ‘thing’ depending on the victim’s age.

Almost all the American school shooters have been under treatment by these experts. Yet, laymen diagnosed the Valentine’s Day Florida shooter as a clear and present danger, while mental health experts took pains to keep sharp objects (but not guns!) away from him lest he harm himself or family. They apparently believed Nicolas Cruz could be contained by talking to one of their number (i.e., ‘therapy’). But the treatment outcomes for drug or alcohol addiction are as dismal with or without a mental health expert on the team. And rare is the priest who has not re-offended after ‘treatment’ by these selfsame experts.

Likewise, their client-centered, rather than society-protecting perspective, has little place in the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church has an obligation to protect boys (pre-teens, teenagers, etc.) from assault. Eliminating homosexuals from positions of authority is the best way to achieve this, not by adopting psychiatric argot in a bid to appear ‘sophisticated.’

Recently, I watched Spotlight, a 2015 movie that exposes abundant cases of pedophilia in the Boston archdiocese. The profile of most victims, male children, is indicative of abundant cases of homosexuality, but the word homosexuality was mildly and rarely used in the movie.

The scandals in the Boston archdiocese were exposed when American Jew Marty Baron, a new editor of The Boston Globe, led an investigative team of journalists who began, in 2001, to research and publish about pedophile priests covered by their superiors.

Baron discovered that bishops in the Boston area moved abusers from parish to parish instead of defrocking them or letting police and courts take charge of these cases. Similar scandals have since been discovered around the world.

According to the Associated Press, Australian Cardinal George Pell, the highest-ranking Vatican official to testify on systemic sexual abuse of children by clergy in the Roman Catholic Church, said senior clergy lied to him to cover up abuse in the 1970s. He said that he was deceived about why abusive priests were moved from parish to parish.

Spotlight, a movie based on actual events, reports that “249 priests and brothers were publicly accused of sexual abuse within the Boston Archdiocese.”

“The number of survivors in Boston is estimated to be well over 1,000,” says Spotlight.

The Boston cardinal responsible for overseeing these cases and for moving abusive priests from parish to parish was, according to Spotlight, promoted to Rome in 2002, right in the midst of the public scandal, to lead one of the high-ranking Roman Catholic churches in the world.

The candid movie reports that similar major abuse scandals have been uncovered in many other U.S. cities.

Officially, the Catholic Church has never said that the exposed scandals by Spotlight are lies.

There is no doubt that the way bishops and other overseers have managed the cases of pedophile (especially pederast) priests was a monumental disaster.

Yet, it is an equally monumental disaster to cover up the homosexual connection. Since The Boston Globe and its talented Jewish editor had no interest to investigate this connection, perhaps the pro-life movement, which is a significant force in the U.S. Catholicism, could research and publish about it, firstly in the Catholic setting.

The pro-life movement has had a high ability to record and expose abortion clinic scandals through undercover agents. They do it because they love children and they want to protect them.

Many Catholic pro-life groups focus their attacks on gender ideology, which harms children. But pedophilia (especially pederasty) in the church equally harms children, particularly because it is committed in a place that should offer protection and high spiritual and moral authority.

Pro-life groups and leaders, not the secular media as The Boston Globe, should be the first to expose crimes against children. Not only abortion and gender ideology are a threat to children, but pedophilia (especially pederasty) too.

Hollywood, abortion clinics and homosexual groups are places of rampant depravity. Depravity and cover-up are expected from them. But Christian institutions should have a higher standard and transparency, which is light, according to Christian ethics.

The Boston Globe did a necessary job by exposing pedophile priests and superiors covering them up. But the missing link was tritely treated. Pedophilia is the broad term for rape of female and male children. The proper term for rapists of male children, pederast, was never mentioned in Spotlight. This omission is troubling.

The Merriam-Webster’s Dictionary and Thesaurus (2009 Kindle edition) defines “pederast” as “one who practices anal intercourse esp. with a boy,” explaining the original Greek term, paiderastēs, literally means “lover of boys.”

The Oxford Dictionary (2010 Kindle edition) defines “pederasty” as “sexual activity involving a man and a boy.”

The 1913 Webster’s Unabridged Dictionary defines “pederasty” as sodomy and “pederast” as sodomite, a term traditionally used to designate homosexuals.

So where there is pederasty, there is always homosexuality, and where there is homosexuality, pederasty is inevitable. It is included in the packet.

Yet, the audiences would have the impression, by watching Spotlight, that boys are usually abused by priests, not homosexuals.

The Spotlight movie should have included the missing link. Yet, what to expect from liberals? They want to promote the gender agenda to children and protect them not from homosexuality but from Christianity, which, thanks to the Catholic leadership’s failure, they are pairing with pederasty, a term that is being separated from its only natural and traditional partner: homosexuality.

Why the Catholic Church has been so negligent in this matter, I do not know. Why during decades or more she gave no harsh treatment to homosexuals and their scandals in the clergy, protecting them from prosecution and jail, I do not know.

The pro-life movement, a protector of children, should have under its spotlight not only abortion and the gender agenda but also the massive scandal of homosexual, pederastic priests. This would give them moral authority to expose covered pederastic scandals of leaders and groups that treat Christian values in the same sewer of sexual perversion they live or tolerate in their midst. They would have authority to say the obvious: pederasty and homosexuality walk together wherever they are, whether in a church, school or other place.

Perverted priests should be denounced and jailed, even though only jail is a very small punishment to child-rapists.
