Biden recognized systematic killings of Christian Armenians by Islamic Turkey was genocide

Biden recognized systematic killings of Christian Armenians by Islamic Turkey was genocide

By Julio Severo

President Joe Biden has formally recognized that systematic killings and deportations of hundreds of thousands of Christian Armenians by Muslim Turkey in 1915 was genocide.

Armenian Christian adolescents raped and crucified by Muslim Turks during the Armenian genocide in 1915

Yet, he did not mention directly the words “Christian” and “Muslim.”

For decades the White House has avoided saying that Islamic Turkey committed genocide against Christian Armenians over concerns that such recognition could damage relations with NATO ally Turkey.

Even former President Donald Trump never recognized the Turkish genocide against Armenian Christians, preferring to say that he was a big fan of Islamic dictator Recep Erdogan.

He wasted a golden opportunity to recognize the genocide against Christians, and Biden, even though a left-winger, did the unthinkable by recognizing it. No one expected him to do it, even though, to be consistent, he should also recognize the genocide of about 1 million babies who are killed year by year in abortion facilities in the U.S.

Biden’s historic declaration has been celebrated by Christian Armenians, but provoked an angry response in Islamic Turkey, which said that Biden’s decision “will open a deep wound that undermines our mutual trust and friendship.”

An estimated two million Christian Armenians were deported and 1.5 million were killed in the events known as Metz Yeghern.

In his statement that did not mention the word “Christian,” Biden said the American people honor “all those Armenians who perished in the genocide that began 106 years ago today.”

He added: “Over the decades Armenian immigrants have enriched the United States in countless ways, but they have never forgotten the tragic history… We honor their story. We see that pain. We affirm the history. We do this not to cast blame but to ensure that what happened is never repeated.”

With his acknowledgement, Biden fulfilled a campaign promise he made in 2020 on the annual commemoration of Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day to recognize that the events of 1915 to 1923 were a genocide against Armenians.

In a letter to Biden, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan wrote that the U.S. president’s message was received with great enthusiasm by the people of Armenia and Armenians worldwide.

“The acknowledgement of the Armenian Genocide is important not only as a tribute paid to the 1.5 million innocent victims, but also in terms of preventing the recurrence of similar crimes against mankind,” he added.

A statement from the Turkish Foreign Ministry called on Biden to correct what it described as “a grave mistake.”

It read: “We reject and denounce in the strongest terms the statement of the President of the US regarding the events of 1915 made under the pressure of radical Armenian circles and anti-Turkey groups. It is clear that the said statement does not have a scholarly and legal basis, nor is it supported by any evidence. This statement... will open a deep wound that undermines our mutual trust and friendship.”

Essentially, Turkey used revisionism (a tool commonly used by left-wingers) to deny that what they did against Christians was genocide.

Erdogan had established a close bond with former U.S. president Donald Trump, but the Biden administration has grown more vocal about Turkey’s human rights track record.

Again, if Biden is so concerned about human rights, why is its administration giving billions of dollars to fund abortion facilities that kill 4,000 American babies a day?

Trump was right when he denounced abortion, but he was wrong by not denouncing the Turkish genocide against Christian Armenians.

Biden was right when he denounced the Turkish genocide, but he was wrong by not denouncing the genocide of abortion in America.

Trump Says that He is a Big Fan of President Erdogan while Turkey Persecutes Christians

Trump Says that He is a Big Fan of President Erdogan while Turkey Persecutes Christians

By Julio Severo
The November 13, 2019 meeting between Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House provoked concern about the passivity of the U.S. government regarding Turkey persecuting Christians.
While some hoped Trump would say hard truths to Erdogan, instead he highly praised the Turkish strongman.
“I’m a big fan of the president; I have to tell you that,” Trump said of Erdogan while speaking at a press conference at the White House.
During the press conference, one reporter asked Erdogan about the plight of Christians who have suffered during the Turkish invasion in Syria.
“The ones remaining on the Syrian side of the territory will see their worship practices restored and revived in a special manner, they’re receiving health care; they’re receiving humanitarian aid in every aspect possible,” Erdogan responded.
Yet, a Christian pastor in the Syrian city of Kobane told a different story.
“Under the pretext of fighting against the Kurds, a lot of churches have been targeted and destroyed, and many Christians were forcibly displaced from their hometowns,” Pastor Omar Firaz told CBN News.
“We’ve had an economic relationship, a military relationship, a genuine friendship with Turkey. but we do not know who Turkey is anymore,” said Senator James Lankford (R-OK).
Perhaps Lankford does not know, but Christians, especially Armenian Christians, know very well who Turkey is.
One of the largest modern genocides of Christians was committed by Turkey. About 100 years ago in Turkey, an estimated 1.5 million Armenian Christians in 66 towns and 2,500 villages were massacred; 2,350 churches and monasteries were looted, and 1,500 schools and colleges were destroyed. Nevertheless, to appease Turkey’s wrath, Trump has avoided to say that the Armenian Genocide was a genocide. America does not recognize the Armenian Genocide because Turkish Muslims hate to hear about their crimes against Christians.
If Russian President Vladimir Putin had said “I’m a big fan of president Erdogan,” U.S. Bible teachers would immediately deliver apocalyptic sermons about Russia and Turkey in a Gog and Magog alliance against Israel.
The U.S. has every reason and power to condemn Turkey for centuries of persecution against Christians and no reason to worry: Turkey has no nuclear weapons against the U.S. But Turkey has 50 American nuclear weapons against Russia.
In the Cold War, the U.S. installed 50 nuclear bombs in Turkey to fight the Soviet Union, making both nations hijacked by strange interests. Because of this hijacking, the U.S. spent the last 70 years “hindered” from condemning Turkey about its genocide against Armenian Christians.
The Soviet Union does not exist anymore, but American nuclear bombs continue in Turkey threatening Russia.
When Russia tries better relations with Turkey, its objective is to neutralize the nuclear threat.
So Turkey, which is historically a genocidal threat to Christians, is not threatened by the U.S. and its massive nuclear power. On the contrary, the U.S. uses Turkey to threaten Russia.
Bible teachers should have some apocalyptic messages about the U.S. nuclearly empowering Islamic Turkey against Christians, and Russia is today the largest Orthodox Christian nation in the world. Armenian Christians who suffered genocide from Turkey were also Orthodox Christians.
It makes no sense for the U.S., the largest Protestant nation in the world, to use an Islamic nation with a history of Christian genocide to threaten an Orthodox Christian nation.
Why doesn’t the U.S. nuclearly threaten Islamic Turkey and Saudi Arabia, which are threats to Christians?

Gog, Magog, Russia, a Neocon Novel and a Neocon Theologian

Gog, Magog, Russia, a Neocon Novel and a Neocon Theologian

By Julio Severo
Bible prophecy is, in the hands of skillful authors, an art that can bring spiritual guidance or disaster, when misused. When President George W. Bush decided to launch the Iraqi War, famous preachers of Bible prophecy said that such war was necessary to protect Israel. I joined them, because protection of Israel has a special place in my heart.
Yet, no one of these prophecy masters had any prophecy or revelation of the Iraqi War’s aftermath: the slaughter of the Iraqi Christian community. Before Bush’s war, the Christian population in Iraq was over 2,000,000. After the war, less than 400,000.
President Donald Trump expressed in 2016 that he was opposed to this war and he said that Bush lied. In return, today Bush and all his family are opposed to Trump.
So how can a war, supported by Bible prophecy preachers, supposedly to protect Israel bring in its aftermath so much slaughter and destruction to unprotected and defenseless Christians in Iraq? Bible prophecy preachers were irresponsible in their prophecies, but they were not kept accountable for their misinterpretation of the Scriptures.
In the 1970s, there was also widespread prophecies and many of them put America in a privileged position, and her political enemies were left with negative Bible roles. This pattern continues.
In a ChristianPost report of April 22, 2018, Christian author Joel Rosenberg talked about “Gog and Magog” by saying that this prophecy in Ezekiel was forewarning of Russia. He said that Russia will form an alliance with Turkey and attack Israel.
“The one-day, future evil leader of Russia is going to form an alliance with Iran, Turkey and some other hostile countries to come and surround and attack Israel in the last days,” he said, adding that these events could still be hundreds of years away. But his followers are taking it seriously here and now.
Rosenberg’s view is in his latest novel “The Kremlin Conspiracy,” which is a fiction.
Yet, if Rosenberg loves so much Bible prophecy, why does not he give attention to a significant Bible prophecy of David Wilkerson, who said that America is Babylon?
Regardless of interpretations of America’s and Russia’s future, Trump, who in 2016 wanted a partnership with Russia against Islamic terrorism, was a very good politician, even though Rosenberg saw him as “catastrophic.” And Putin is a very good politician in his example of fight against the gay agenda and against ISIS.
The inconvenient non-fictional context in the fictitious prophecy in Rosenberg’s novel is that Turkey has a real alliance — with the U.S. and NATO.
What is not fiction are the neocon biases in his views. For example, Rosenberg said, “Vladimir Putin is more dangerous to the United States and our way of life than radical Islam.” This is the exact view of neocons. In 2016 George Soros published an article titled “Putin is a bigger threat to Europe’s existence than ISIS.” While Soros is a neocon left-wing American-Jew, Rosenberg is a neocon Christian American-Jew. Different, but like-minded.
“The Kremlin Conspiracy,” as Rosenberg himself recognized in his book, had the pivotal assistance of Senator Lindsey Graham. Senator John McCain and Graham are the two leading anti-Russia neocons in the U.S. Congress. Saying anti-Russia neocon is a redundancy because all neocons are against Russia.
Graham, who incessantly wants war with Russia, was opposed to Trump in 2016 for his anti-neocon speeches. Graham and McCain were funded by Soros.
So Rosenberg’s novel is essentially neocon. It was published in 2018 by Tyndale House Publishers, a prominent evangelical publishing house. The neoconservative (neocon) ideology, with some theological adornment, is going mainstream among U.S. evangelicals.
Not only about Putin Rosenberg has negative “prophetic” feelings. He said in 2016 that Trump would be absolute catastrophe as president. Not different from neocons. In 2016, in the magazine Commentary, the neocon historian Max Boot wrote, somewhat hyperbolically, that Trump is “the No. 1 threat to American security” — bigger than the Islamic State or China.
So, in the neocon view, both Putin and Trump in 2016 were a threat bigger than ISIS!
In contrast, Franklin Graham, who is the son of the evangelist Billy Graham, said last year: “The media and enemies of President Trump have tried to drive a wedge between Russia and the United States. Our country needs Russia as an ally in the fight against Islamic terrorism. Join me in praying for President Trump and for President Vladimir Putin.”
Not only the media, labeled appropriately by Trump as FakeNews Media, but irresponsible Bible prophecy preachers have joined neocons to drive such wedge.
As soon as Trump abandoned his 2016 speeches of partnership with Russia against Islamic terrorism, neocons and Joel Rosenberg reversed course and stopped criticizing him. Now that Trump has continued the traditional neocon policy of partnership with Islam against Russia, Lindsey Graham, John McCain and Rosenberg are satisfied.
Even though most Christian neocons are Catholic, there are some prominent Protestant neocons, including Hillary Clinton. Rosenberg is one of them too.
While Rosenberg uses his neocon feelings to interpret Bible prophecy, writing novels and fictions that are treated as reality and non-fiction, reality is reality. America, the largest Protestant nation in the world, treats Saudi Arabia as a friend, while the Saudi dictatorship persecutes Christians.
Turkey, another U.S. ally, has kept an American pastor imprisoned since October 2016 on accusations that he aided terror groups.
It is a huge affront for Turkey to imprison an evangelical minister of the nation that leads NATO, because the presence of Turkey in NATO was a privilege exclusively — and undeservedly — granted by the United States. Turkey is radically Islamic and its values are contrary, religiously and historically, to the Christians values of Europe and the United States. There is no justification whatsoever for Turkey to be a NATO member and a U.S. ally.
Yet, it is not only Turkey’s attack on an innocent pastor that proves that Turkey does not deserve to be an ally of Christian nations.
Last month, Erdogan said Israel is “a terror state” and that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is “a terrorist” over Israel’s defensive efforts against Palestinian terrorists. Turkey has funded and armed Hamas against Israel and, with Saudi Arabia, it has funded and armed Islamic terrorist groups, including ISIS, against the Syrian government. This is real terrorism. How can Islamic Turkey hypocritically accuse Israel of terrorism?
One of the largest modern genocides of Christians was committed by Turkey. About 100 years ago in Turkey, an estimated 1.5 million Armenian Christians in 66 towns and 2,500 villages were massacred; 2,350 churches and monasteries were looted, and 1,500 schools and colleges were destroyed. Nevertheless, to appease Turkey’s wrath, Trump has avoided to say that the Armenian Genocide was a genocide. Israel, which every year rightly remembers the Holocaust, has also avoided to recognize the Armenian Genocide, even though evangelical Christians have worked very hard to press nations to recognize the Holocaust. Both America and Israel do not recognize the Armenian Genocide because Turkish Muslims hate to hear about their crimes against Christians.
For these obvious reasons, Turkey poses concerns to Christians, who also look at historical facts regarding Turkey’s violence against Christians and Jews.
Hagia Sophia, the oldest and largest Christian cathedral in the world, was conquered by Muslims in 1453 in Constantinople, the Christian name of the current Islamic city of Istanbul, Turkey. A Christian civilization was destroyed by Islamic invaders who transformed the conquered Christian land — the land of the seven churches of Revelation — in Turkey.
Not only a traditional Christian land was conquered, but the land of Israel too.
From 1517 until 1917, Turkey — which was then the Ottoman Empire — conquered and owned the Promised Land. This is, during four centuries the land of Israel was under Islamic control. So when the Bible talks about Gog and Magog coming from North and conquering Israel, this was Turkey, which is on the North of Israel, and owned Israel for centuries.
In fact, Jewish and Christian scholars pointed to Turkey as Gog and Magog, as shown by evangelical author Joel Richardson:
Hippolytus of Rome (170–235), an early Christian theologian, in his Chronicon, connected Magog with the Galatians in Asia Minor, or modern-day Turkey.
Moses Ben Maimonides (aka Rambam) (1135–1204), the revered Jewish sage, in Hichot Terumot, identified Magog as being on the border of Syria and modern-day Turkey.
Nicholas of Lyra (1270–1349), a Hebrew scholar and renowned biblical exegete, believed that Gog was another title of the Antichrist. Lyra also affirmed that the religion of the “Turks,” a term used to refer to Muslims in general, was the religion of the Antichrist.
Martin Luther (1483–1546), understood Gog to be a reference to the Turks, whom God had sent as a scourge to chastise Christians.
Sir Walter Raleigh (1554–1618), in his History of the World, also placed Magog in Asia Minor, or modern-day Turkey.
John Wesley (1703–1755), in his Explanatory Notes on Ezekiel 38 and 39, identified the hordes of Gog and Magog with “the Antichristian forces” who would come from the region of modern day Turkey.
Jonathan Edwards (1703–1758), one of American history’s most renowned theologians, also viewed modern-day Turkey as the nation from which the coming Gog Magog invasion would come forth.
Neocons have their geopolitical reasons to treat Russia, not the Islamic dictatorships of Turkey and Saudi Arabia, as the enemy No. 1. But why has Joel Rosenberg chosen to interpret the Bible prophecies in a way that fits neocon geopolitics? Why has he received pivotal assistance from neocon Lindsey Graham to produce an anti-Russia book?
Why has the United States enlisted the real Gog and Magog — which treats an evangelical minister and Israel as “terrorists” and which killed 1.5 million Armenian Christians — as a NATO member and its ally? To come from North and conquer Israel again? To come from North and conquer Christians and treat them as “terrorists” again? To kill Christians, as in the Armenian Genocide and in Syria through Islamic terrorist groups?
Turkey has a prophetic profile that not only fits Gog and Magog, but also as a major threat to Christians and Israel in these last days.
My question is: Why are U.S. evangelicals letting Protestant neocons as Rosenberg guide them in the larger geopolitical and warmongering plan of non-Christian neocons?
All neocons, including Rosenberg, thought that in 2016 Trump would be catastrophic. Of course, he would be catastrophic: just to neocons and their warmongering ambitions and manipulated Bible prophecies.
America desperately needs a president catastrophic to neocons.

US Pastor Imprisoned, Accused of “Terrorism,” in Turkey

US Pastor Imprisoned, Accused of “Terrorism,” in Turkey

By Julio Severo
An American pastor is imprisoned in Turkey since October 2016 on accusations that he aided terror groups or spied against Turkey.
Andrew Craig Brunson
Andrew Craig Brunson, a 50-year-old evangelical pastor from North Carolina, faces up to 35 years in prison on charges of “committing crimes on behalf of terror groups” and “espionage.”
Brunson, who denies any wrongdoing, was arrested in 2016 for alleged links to the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, the Kurdish socialist party that has fought for independence from Turkey.
“We have seen no credible evidence that Mr. Brunson is guilty of a crime and are convinced that he is innocent,” U.S. State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said in a statement.
Brunson served as pastor of Izmir Resurrection Church, a small Protestant congregation in Izmir, the old Bible city of Smyrna, and has lived in Turkey for 23 years.
President Donald Trump has asked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan for Brunson’s release, but his request has not been answered.
Turkey’s accusation against the evangelical minister is nonsense. Even though terrorists are common in Islam, they are not common in Christianity, especially among evangelicals.
Erdogan should see this obvious difference and immediately release Brunson.
It is a huge affront for Turkey to imprison an evangelical minister of the nation that lead NATO, because the presence of Turkey in NATO was a privilege exclusively — and undeservedly — granted by the United States. Turkey is radically Islamic and its values are contrary, religiously and historically, to the Christians values of Europe and the United States. Israel Refuses to Recognize Genocide of Armenian Christians

Israel Refuses to Recognize Genocide of Armenian Christians

By Julio Severo
A very important news about acknowledgment of persecution and genocide of Christians went virtually unnoticed in the mainstream media: The Knesset (the Israeli Parliament) rejected on February a bill that would have recognized the Armenian Genocide.
Protesters in Jerusalem demand Israel’s recognition of the Armenian Genocide
“There is no reason that the Knesset, which represents a nation that went through the Holocaust, shouldn’t recognize the Armenian Genocide and have a remembrance day for it,” said Yair Lapid, Yesh Atid party chairman, who sponsored the bill.
“The Israeli leadership diminishes itself by so transparently treating genocide remembrance as a commodity to be bartered with [Turkish President Recep Tayyip] Erdogan,” said Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) Executive Director Aram Hamparian, regarding the vote.
The Knesset has discussed the Armenian Genocide several times in the past, but the Israel government has blocked all efforts to recognized it.
Even though Israel has today the most right-wing government coalition in the Israeli history under Benjamin Netanyahu, how will the Israel government be able to recognize the Armenian Genocide if it has been unable even to recognize that abortion, which is legal and fully available in Israel, is genocide?
As a Zionist evangelical Christian, I am a supporter of Israel and, in my view, every nation should recognize the Holocaust, the immense suffering and death Jewish victims went through in the hands of Nazi thugs.
So, because Jews suffered so much and know what genocide is, Israel should be the first nation to recognize the Armenian Genocide, especially because just as there is a denial of the Holocaust, there is also a denial of the Armenian Genocide.
I have been a fighter against the revisionism and denial of the Holocaust and the Inquisition, because both efforts bring dishonor to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and the Inquisition.
In the same way, the revisionism and denial of the Armenian Genocide bring dishonor to the Christian Armenian victims of the Armenian Genocide.
Israel has avoided to label the mass slaughter of Christians Armenians genocide because Islamic Turkey does not like to be reminded of its crimes.
Israel is not the only nation seeking not to enrage Turkey.
Last year, U.S. President Donald Trump marked the Ottoman Turks’ century-old massacre of 1.5 million Armenians, but declined to label it a genocide.
“Today, we remember and honor the memory of those who suffered during the Meds Yeghern, one of the worst mass atrocities of the 20th century,” Trump said in a statement. “I join the Armenian community in America and around the world in mourning the loss of innocent lives and the suffering endured by so many.”
Such a declaration, even though avoiding the term “genocide” and refusing to mention that the killers were Muslim and the victims were Christian, angered Turkey, only NATO Islamic member and U.S. ally, whose cooperation Trump seeks against the Syrian government.
“We consider that the misinformation and false definitions contained in U.S. President Trump’s written statement of April 24, 2017 regarding the 1915 events are derived from the information pollution created over the years by some Armenian circles in the U.S. by means of propaganda methods,” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
Previous presidents, including former President Barack Obama, also refused to call the mass killings a genocide. Presidents George W. Bush and Bill Clinton avoided the term “genocide” even though they had pledged during their campaigns that they would recognize it as such.
In the same week Trump avoided the term “genocide,” he contacted Turkish President Recep Erdogan to discuss joint U.S.-Turkish counterterrorism efforts. This is very strange, because as an Islamic nation, Turkey does not fight terrorism, especially from ISIS. According to a 2014 WND (WorldNetDaily) report, “Turkey backs ISIS to eliminate Assad.” Israel has also backed Islamic terrorists against Assad.
ISIS has committed genocide against Christians in Syria and Iraq. According to Trump, Obama founded ISIS. And Obama worked closely with Turkey. So if Trump refuses the term “genocide” to please Turkey and has this Islamic nation as an ally against ISIS, is not he helping the ISIS genocide against Christians? To have Islamic Turkey as an ally against Islamic terror is so insane as to have the Nazi Germany as an ally against Nazism or have the Soviet Union as an ally against Soviet Marxism.
Armenia was the first officially Christian nation in the world. Armenia, as a Christian Orthodox nation, is allied with Russia, the largest Christian Orthodox nation in the world.
Because the United States is the largest Protestant nation in the world, Trump could have an alliance with Armenia and Russia against Islamic terrorism, and this was his intent in 2016, but now he is privileging an insane alliance with Islamic Turkey and Saudi Arabia to fight the Islamic terrorism created and supported by Saudi and Turkish Muslims.
If Trump and Israel cannot recognize as genocide the slaughters of Christians by Muslims 100 years ago, how can they recognize current genocides against Christians? How can they recognize that Islam was and is a genocide machine against Christians?
So far, just 23 nations have recognized the Armenian genocide, among them France, Germany, Italy, Canada, Greece, Russia, Uruguay, Brazil, Argentina, Venezuela, Chile and Bolivia.
In 2015 Russian President Putin was the only president of a major power to attend commemorations of 100 years of Armenian Genocide in 1915. The commemorations were held at the Armenian Genocide Memorial on Tsitsernakaberd Hill, in Armenia’s capital city of Yerevan, to pay tribute to the genocide victims.
In the occasion, Erdogan was angered at Putin for calling the mass killing of Christian Armenians by Turkish Muslims a genocide. He said, “It’s not the first time Russia used the word genocide on this issue. I’m personally sad that Putin took such a step.”
In the Armenian Genocide 100 years ago, an estimated 1.5 million Armenians in 66 towns and 2,500 villages were massacred; 2,350 churches and monasteries were looted, and 1,500 schools and colleges were destroyed.
Yet, Muslims in Turkey and in other nations understate and deny that Armenian Christians suffered a genocide, just as neo-Nazi groups understate and deny the Holocaust against the Jews and ultra-radical Catholics understate and deny the Inquisition against the Jews and Protestants.
Israel knows what denial and revisionism have done to minimize the Holocaust and the Inquisition and their victims. So why has Israel refused to recognize the Armenian Genocide?
Why does Israel seek to please the perpetrator (Islamic Turkey) and does not side with its victim (Armenian Christians)?
The answer comes from Armenians themselves. The Armenian newspaper Asbarez, in a report titled “Israeli Politicians Must Stop Using the Armenian Genocide Card,” said,
“Every time the Turkish regime does something to anger Israel, the Jewish state’s politicians and members of parliament threaten Ankara with the recognition of the Armenian Genocide, furthering their cowardice as a nation that rose from the ashes of the Holocaust.
“For a state that never misses an opportunity to remind the world of the horrors of the Holocaust, Israel has had a hard time reconciling its respect for human rights and the losses suffered by Jews with the fact of the Armenian Genocide.
“Israel must recognize the Armenian Genocide not because it’s politically expedient, but because it is a historic fact. By not recognizing it, Israel continues to amplify its own hypocrisy by becoming complicit in its denial.”
