Brazilian Abortion Decriminalization Bill Suffers New Defeat

Brazilian Abortion Decriminalization Bill Suffers New Defeat

"The right to life constitutes the supreme value of the Constitution" says committee chairman.

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

BRASILIA, June 27, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) -- A bill to decriminalize abortion that has been in process in the Brazilian Congress for 17 years has received its second major defeat in recent weeks after being rejected by the President of the Constitution, Justice, and Citizenship Committee of Brazil's Chamber of Deputies (the nation's lower legislative house).

"The fetus has the right not to be killed," said Eduardo Cunha, explaining why he would recommended a "no" vote to the legislation (PL-1135/1991), which is supported by the administration of Brazilian President Luiz Lula da Silva. He also recommended rejecting another bill, PL-176/1995, which would establish abortion as a "right".

On June 26, Cunha presented his case before the committee, stating that the bills seek to decriminalize abortions, but in the judicial system of Brazil "the inviolability of the right to life is assured".

"The right to life constitutes the supreme value of the Constitution, because all other rights are derived from it," he added. He noted that not even a constitutional amendment can abolish the right to life.

The rejection by Cunha follows the historic defeat of PL 1135/1991 in the Chamber's Social Security and Family Committee on May 7 of this year, 33-0.

The Constitution, Justice, and Citizenship Committee will hold a full vote after two rounds of public hearings, which will receive testimony from José Gomes Temporão, President Lula's pro-abortion health minister, as well as other representatives of both sides of the debate.

A Satanic Joke

A Satanic Joke

By Olavo de Carvalho

Translated from the Portuguese by Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

The other day a friend asked me if I had noticed that, within a single generation, forms of conduct described by psychiatry as neurotic or even psychotic have become accepted as normal. Not just normal - I responded - but normative, laudable, and obligatory. The next steps are: (a) marginalize and criminalize every reaction of revulsion, (b) make revulsion psychologically impossible, expelling it from the repertoire of conduct admitted by society.

Only unconcealed paranoia could allow, for example, a country where there are 50,000 homicides every year, spread over the whole territory of eight and a half million square kilometers, to describe the murder of 120 homosexuals as a wave of homophobic genocide. However, it is only necessary for someone to appeal to such a statistical comparison and instantly, among cries of revulsion and tears of indignation from the crowd, he is accused of homophobia and of being an apostle of genocide. The idea of comparing the number of gays who are murdered with those who are murderers, scientifically indispensable for distinguishing between a threatened group, a threatening group, and a group that is neither one or the other, ends up being so offensive that the mere temptation to suggest it is sufficient for one to be prosecuted for homophobia, without the law even having to prove it.

Likewise, Mr. Luiz Mott alleges as proof of generalized anti-homosexual hatred, some ninety cases of aggressions against homosexuals that have occurred in the space of four months in São Paulo, but who dares to compare that number with the number of aggressions committed by the very gay militants themselves in only one day of the Gay Parade in the same city? Applying the statistical criteria of Mr. Mott, we would say that gays are a danger to the public. The conclusion is absurd, but no more absurd than claiming that they themselves are in danger.

A sense of proportion being prohibited, and the hysterical posturing and hyperbolic paranoia in favor of interest groups become absolute civic obligations. Insanity becomes obligatory, and whoever refuses to be contaminated by it is a criminal, a reprobate, a lunatic who is unable to live in society.

The President of the Republic recently participated in emergency forums regarding this psychotic stupidity, declaring that any and all opposition to homosexualism is "the most perverse illness that ever entered the human mind".

He reinforces his words, insisting in appearing in official ceremonies with Mr. Luiz Mott at his side, the same individual who talks about pornographic art while embracing the statue of a naked baby of the male sex, transmitting in a not at all subtle manner the idea that babies are, or should be made into, objects of sexual desire like anyone else (if you don't believe it, verify it at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlmfZdyk2YA).

The propaganda of pedophilia is more than evident here, but, upon decorating Mr. Mott for "cultural merit" (as if he himself had merit or culture), Mr. Lula throws all of the weight of his presidential authority in a cynical bluff that forces us to deny what we see, and to believe instead the official pretense of elevated humanitarian and cultural intentions. There is no greater arrogance than demanding that a human being sacrifice his conscience, his intelligence, and even his capacity of sense perception on the altar of the absurd. "In the end, who are you going to believe, me or your own eyes," Groucho Marx used to ask. When the joke is transformed into reality, humor becomes a satanic farce.

Totally oblivious to the grotesque nature of his performance, the lunatic ascends the chair and gives lessons in psychiatry, categorizing as "sick" those who think there is something wrong about eroticizing an image of a baby, and even proposing, as therapy, to imprison all of them.

And there are those who think that it is possible to have a rational, polite discussion with people like Messrs. Lula and Mott...

‘Opposing homosexuality makes you sick'

Brazil president holds conference to battle 'homophobia'

By Christina Miller
© 2008 WorldNetDaily

The president of Brazil says "opposing" homosexuality makes you a sick person, and he believes such thoughts need to be criminalized.

It was only a few decades ago when the American Psychiatric Association listed homosexuality as a mental disorder, before it succumbed to a pro-"gay" campaign to discontinue that definition.

Now Brazilian chief Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva, who won a narrow re-election following a cash-for-votes scandals, has held the First National Conference of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals to condemn the biblical belief that homosexuality is wrong.

Lulu, on June 5, not only officially opened the event to promote homosexuality across that nation, but also issued a presidential sanction for the conference.

He is calling for "the criminalization of homophobia," and he said opposition to homosexuality is "perhaps the most perverse disease impregnated in the human head."

He said "prejudiced" people need to "open their minds and clean them." Other speakers encouraged homosexuals to claim to be part of a civil rights campaign that already has brought reforms for treatment of blacks, the elderly and the disabled. They also announced the nation's public hospitals soon would begin to perform sex changes on people.

Brazilian pro-family activist Julio Severo, in an e-mail interview, said the move towards the standards of Sodom and Gomorrah is more advanced in his nation than in the United States – for now – because of the absence of Christian fundamentals for society.

"Those [Christians] involved [in politics] are massively directed by Leftist philosophies, especially Liberation Theology in its several forms," he said.

"Those not involved think that the only option for social action is to copy the political activism of Christian left-wingers," he said.

Severo said what needs to happen is for Christian churches to renounce socialism en masse and get involved in politics, using biblical guidelines as their standards.

"They need to prepare and send 'Josephs,' 'Davids' and 'Daniels' to conquer public office," he said.

Severo said the homosexual community, unlike many advocacy groups' claims in the past, clearly isn't satisfied with "widespread acceptance" of its chosen sexual lifestyle. That dissatisfaction is leading to demands for approval and endorsement, and to eradicate "homophobia" and "homophobic" thoughts by law.

The Lula administration has taken bold steps to this end, he said. The Special Secretariat of Human Rights, in conjunction with other government departments, has launched the "Brasil sem Homofobia (Brazil Without Homophobia)" campaign, he noted.

This program markets itself as one designed to promote greater understanding of homosexuality in Brazil. However, its actions have been far from peaceful – in May, one of its founding members, Luiz Mott, filed charges of defamation against pro-family activists and posted their home addresses to the Internet.

For now, conservatives have a right to free speech, Christian leaders have reported. However, if homosexual advocacy becomes law it will be classified as part of the "dignity of the person," and therefore will trump any speech rights still held by Christians.

Severo admits he has huge concerns about the developments he sees.

"Only God knows what the future will bring," he said.

WORLD CONGRESS OF FAMILIES DECRIES BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT’S CALL TO CRIMINALIZE OPPOSITION TO HOMOSEXUALITY

WORLD CONGRESS OF FAMILIES DECRIES BRAZILIAN PRESIDENT’S CALL TO CRIMINALIZE OPPOSITION TO HOMOSEXUALITY

Responding to Brazilian President Luiz Lula’s description of opposition to homosexuality as “perhaps the most perverse disease impregnated in the human head,” World Congress of Families Global Coordinator Larry Jacobs said the comment is “so inane as to leave one breathless.”

“Lula has gone further than any other head of state to align himself with the most radical elements of the international homosexual movement,” Jacobs observed. “Now he’s saying that opposition to perversion is worse than racism, anti-Semitism or the totalitarian impulse.”

Lula’s comments came at the First National Conference of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals” in Brasilia, on June 5.

Besides labeling opposition to the radical homosexual agenda a mental disorder, Lula called for the criminalization of said dissent. The Brazilian President assured the audience that he is “going to do all that is possible so that the criminalization of homophobia and the civil union may be approved.”

Jacobs observed, “This has always been the ultimate goal of the international homosexual movement: to make opposition to homosexuality a crime -- to suppress free speech and criminalize dissent.”

Jacobs called Lula’s pronouncement “a direct assault on religion and the family,” which, he promised, “pro-family forces around the world will resist.”

World Congress of Families recently garnered the support of 110 pro-family leaders from 23 countries for a petition in support of Romania’s pending move to define marriage as the union of a man and a woman.

Organization of American States Approves Homosexual “Human Rights” Resolution

Organization of American States Approves Homosexual “Human Rights” Resolution

By Matthew Cullinan Hoffman

NEW YORK, June 12, 2008 (LifeSiteNews.com) — The Organization of American States has reportedly approved a resolution that expresses “concern” for the “violations of related human rights committed against individuals based on their sexual orientation.”

The resolution, introduced by the government of Brazil and passed quietly on June 3 by acclamation, further directs that the Committee on Political and Juridical Affairs add the topic “Human Rights, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identity” to its agenda in the coming months. The resolution further requires the Permanent Council of the OAS to give a report about the proceedings.

“Gender identity” refers to the gender an individual claims to have, rather than his actual gender. Homosexual activists urge that such people be given “rights” allowing them to identify with whatever gender they wish.

The document, which reportedly carries the number AG/RES-2435 (XXXVIII-O/08), and is titled “Resolution on Human Rights, Sexual Orientation, and Gender Identity”, cannot be found in any language on the OAS website, which also contains no mention of its having been passed. Its passage was also virtually unmentioned in the mainstream media.

The pro-abortion organization PROMSEX published the resolution along with a longer statement made at the OAS meeting in Medellin, Columbia, by the “Coalition of Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals, Transvestites, Transexuals, Transgenders, and Intersex of the Americas,” which demands official recognition of “diverse sexual orientations, identities, and gender expressions,” including “the right to change one's name and sex in documents without requiring genital mutilation.” The groups also demand the abolition of anti-sodomy laws, and protection from “discrimination”.

The pro-abortion and pro-homosexual organization “Human Rights Watch” lauded the passage of the resolution. The organization has long claimed that homosexuals have a right to engage in and promote sodomy, as well as to "marry", and often reprimands governments that refuse to capitulate to the homosexual ideology.

“This resolution is a bold first step toward ending violence and discrimination,” said Scott Long of Human Rights Watch in a press release. “For the resolution to have an impact, concrete changes in law and policy must follow.”

Brazilian pro-family activist Julio Severo, who has monitored the homosexual movement in Brazil for decades, told LifeSiteNews that the OAS resolution is the result of committed pro-homosexual activism on the part of the administration of President Luiz Lula.

“The Lula administration is showing a solid determination to promote the homosexual agenda in a world scale,” said Severo. “Its first attempt to introduce it in the UN was frustrated by a strong Muslim opposition. Yet, it did not give up. It is directing now its efforts through the Organization of the American States without the same strong opposition. Muslims have shown more courage than Christians.”

The Organization of American States, which includes all of the nations of North and South America, provides a forum to “strengthen cooperation on democratic values, defend common interests and debate the major issues facing the region and the world,” according to its website.

Are you ready for persecution at the hands of gay activists?

Are you ready for persecution at the hands of gay activists?

Rev. D. L. Foster

Are you ready? Are you prayed up? Have you determined and set your mind that no matter what law they pass you will stand with God's eternal Word? Have you decided that you will not be silent no matter what the penalty? Have you educated your church on what is upon us? Are you ready?

Because its not coming, its here.

With the passage of a law in Colorado, a formal declaration by the Brazilian government and a punitive legal decision by the Canadian government against a pastor, homosexuals have begun the work of shutting down the last solid opposition to their lifestyle. That would be you, the church.

With the assistance of the gay christian movement weakening the church's inner defenses and the cureent spiritual climate of greed (aka prosperity) and excess in the church, the gay political movement has racheted up the external pressure to stop all voices which proclaim homosexuality as anything but good, moral and superior. That's publicly. Your alternative is to either not say anything or say it in secret.

Are you ready to do what Daniel did when he was threatened by the Babylonian legal system? Are you prepared to do what John, Peter and the other disciples did when the religious magistrates beat them and ordered them not to speak of Jesus anymore? Are you ready?

According to WorldNetDaily:

The [Colorado] law provides an exemption allowing religious groups to continue teaching, inside their doors, the Bible's condemnation of homosexuality. But the exemption itself is ultimately harmful to the church, Hausknecht contends.

"It tends to marginalize the church," he said. "They'll say, 'It's just a church.' It will allow gay activists to continue to marginalize Christians. They'll say, 'Keep it within your four walls. That's all.'"

The church is about to be ghettoized, just like the Jews of Warsaw under Hitler. The enemy's intent is to herd us into our churches, padlock the doors and make it illegal for us to speak what thus said the Lord. Are you prepared to lose your job, be forced from your home, have your children taken from you for refusing to bow at the altar of homosexual acceptance? There is no middle ground. They won't allow it. Either we choose now to stand up and be counted with the prophets who when faced with the devil's schemes stood tall or we fade in an ignoble oblivion.

In Brazil the government announced a plan to cleanse Brazil of all "homophobia." Last Days Watchman blogger Julio Severo has witnessed this sharp, government led attack in recent years. It culminated at the conference attended by delegates from 14 foreign nations.

Accompanied by six ministers, President Lula asked for all the prejudiced people to "open their minds and clean them". He astonished everyone by manifesting complete support for the homosexual movement and by saying "that he is going to do the possible so that the criminalization of homophobia and the civil union may be approved".

[Lula] defended the end for all opposition to the homosexual behavior and he affirmed that sexual discrimination "perhaps is the most perverse disease impregnated in the human head".

Make no mistake the American political homosexual movement is involved with this having exported their hatred of critics of their sinful abomination to countries where governments are seduced by their money. Are you ready to have your church monitored by undercover homosexual activists? Are you prepared to have homosexuals target your business to test your acceptance of their sin? What will you do when they file an expensive lawsuit against you? In case you havent heard, the war is on.

To our north, the Canadian government has spoken emphatically that critics of homosexuality will face the law and be punished. On May 30th, Pastor Stephen Boissoin was banned from expressing his biblical perspective of homosexuality and ordered to pay $5,000 for "damages for pain and suffering" as well as apologize to the activist who complained of being hurt. Said the court:

"Mr. Boissoin and The Concerned Christian Coalition Inc. shall cease publishing in newspapers, by e-mail, on the radio, in public speeches, or on the Internet, in future, disparaging remarks about gays and homosexuals. Further, they shall not and are prohibited from making disparaging remarks in the future about … Lund or … Lund's witnesses relating to their involvement in this complaint. Further, all disparaging remarks versus homosexuals are directed to be removed from current Web sites and publications of Mr. Boissoin and The Concerned Christian Coalition Inc…"

This is not a fight to be won with carnal weapons. The weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Get yours out and get it ready.

Brazilian President Lula: opposition to homosexuality is a “perverse disease”

Brazilian President Lula: opposition to homosexuality is a “perverse disease”

Julio Severo

Remarkable time for the international homosexual movement. For the first time in the world history, the president of a nation officially opens an event for the defense of homosexuality.

Brazilian President Lula, who attended the First National Conference of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals (GLBT), said that Brazil needs “a time for reparation”. The conference, begun on June 5, 2008, was convoked by presidential decree from Lula himself.

Accompanied by six ministers, he asked for all the prejudiced people to “open their minds and clean them”. He astonished everyone by manifesting complete support for the homosexual movement and by saying “that he is going to do the possible so that the criminalization of homophobia and the civil union may be approved”.

He defended the end for all opposition to the homosexual behavior and he affirmed that sexual discrimination “perhaps is the most perverse disease impregnated in the human head”.

In the first row of the conference were Luiz Mott (in African clothes), Toni Reis, Sergio Mamberti, Senator Fátima Cleide, Rep. Cida Diogo and gay militant Beto de Jesus. Delegates from 14 countries were present. The groundbreaking homosexual conference under government sponsorship is one of the many national and international efforts funded and led by the Lula administration.

In the event, Human Rights Secretary Paulo Vanucchi gave a long speech, trying to force credibility on the homosexual issue. The homosexual website MixBrasil reports that Vanucchi “remembered the Holocaust”, seeking to compare the killing of six million Jews to 5-15 thousand homosexuals, yet not mentioning that Hitler was a homosexual and that the vast majority of the 2 million homosexuals of Nazi Germany did not have the same cruel destiny of the vast majority of the German Jews.

Vanucchi tried also to force equality between the homosexual cause and the fight against the Black slavery. By saying that “homophobia is incompatible to democracy”, he received a long, standing ovation. “Homophobia”, in the politically correct slang, is all philosophical, moral, ethical, medical or religious view or attitude contrary to the homosexual behavior.

According to MixBrasil, he “finished his speech by giving three recommendations to the homosexual movement: It should not get lost in infightings, it should understand that its opponents are people imprisoned by taboos that use more strategies to convince than to confront, and it should understand that the homosexual fight is part of other human-rights fights like the fight for children, disabled, Blacks and aged”.

When the time came for the pro-abortion Health Minister José Gomes Temporão to give his speech, he credited to the homosexual activism the union of the fight against AIDS to the defense of the gay rights. He, who has for a long time been manifesting support for the abortion legalization in Brazil, announced that by late June public hospitals would begin to make sex change surgeries.

In his speech, Toni Reis, president of ABGLT (Brazilian Association of Gays, Lesbians, Bisexuals, Transvestites and Transsexuals), presented a proposal for the creation of a statute for homosexuals, following the pattern of the Child and Adolescent Statute. He also asked for the approval of the civil union for homosexuals and the criminalization of homophobia. His request was applauded by Lula.

“We do any bargain to approve gay rights”, Toni said.

Concluding his appeal, Paulo Vanucchi brought a four-year old girl to the lap of President Lula and on the microphone he yelled, “Brazil without homophobia”.
