Terminator’s Dark Feminist Fate

Terminator’s Dark Feminist Fate

By Julio Severo
Not surprisingly, the movie “Terminator: Dark Fate” was a total box office failure at its release in November 2019, even though Arnold Schwarzenegger is a Hollywood icon.
The movie featured women — Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis and Natalia Reyes — as armed warriors fighting with the same physical strength as men against killing humanoid machines.
One of the women, a Mexican, was chosen by Hollywood fate to form a future androgynous army of men and women armed against these machines.
Macho women, and men as mere subordinates to Hollywood feminists. As villains, men are disposable. As characters on the good side — on the side of Hollywood feminists —, they are also disposable, that is, they are easily terminated. The movie makes it appear that women can by themselves solve everything on the basis of muscular strength and weapons against male villains. It is a feminist movie to please feminists’ tantrums and ideological greed.
It is not surprising the feminist flood in Terminator, as its producer, James Cameron, is considered a feminist, who takes pleasure in glorifying women in male roles. He is best known for writing, directing and producing the leftist environmental movie Avatar (2009).
Terminator was therefore created, with its masculinized women, according to the image and likeness of the feminism promoted by Cameron.
Another characteristic in the movie is profanity. There is a lot of foul language — which is the typical behavior of left-wingers. But what to expect from a movie by Cameron, a left-winger?
Cameron was raised in a traditional Protestant home (not open to the supernatural manifestations of the Holy Spirit), and later he became an atheist who seeks to attack Christianity. According to The Hollowverse website:
“Cameron has since attempted to debunk any claims of supernatural miracles in Christianity with his documentary film, The Lost Tomb of Jesus. The film claims to have found the remains of Jesus Christ, Mary Magdalene, and their children. Citing the names on the tombs and DNA evidence, the film seeks to show that Jesus was a regular guy who died and was not resurrected.”
Politically, Cameron is a left-winger who loves the militarism of the neocons in the Republican Party. Arnold Schwarzenegger is the contrary, but basically the same thing. He, who was the governor of ultra-liberal California, is a Republican neocon who likes leftism.
Apparently, then, women in Terminator are neocon left-wing feminists. But why did not Cameron give the central role in his movie to the queen of neocons, Hillary Clinton? As Cameron, Hillary is a left-wing who loves the militarism of neocons. When conservative Republican President George W. Bush invaded Iraq (an action condemned by Trump), then left-wing Democrat Senator Hillary supported the invasion.
With its feminist flavor, “Terminator: Dark Fate” does not once present marriage, family and husband and wife as even remote options for human beings in the future. Nor would it be possible for Cameron to present marriage in a favorable light, since he himself had 4 divorces.
Although he promotes feminism as a way of showing that he respects women’s rights, his 4 divorces are more than enough evidence that he has no respect for them.
His personal relationship with them is as distorted as his propaganda for them in male roles.
Reality is less generous and politically correct. It is, in the view of the male and female feminists, cruel. According to the scenario of the movie itself, the future will have no pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies to produce “contraceptive” drugs — which often cause micro-abortions. Women will then have their sexuality day and night free and open to pregnancy, which is a natural result of sexual activity.
So, the futuristic woman who wants to live the Hollywood style of free sex will have several pregnancies during her lifetime, making it impossible for her to live completely as macho soldiers and other male roles.
A woman who tries to live without marriage in a future without contraceptives will be a prostitute for several men, with pregnancies and children from each of them.
Women who choose marriage will be occupied with the traditional (and fully supported and defended by the Bible) role of caring for their husbands, children and home.
“Terminator: Dark Fate” twists the role of women. If women could be macho by punching men and leading armies of men, God would not have created Eve for Adam. He would have created another Adam.
If men were virtually disposable, as the movie shows, God would have created another Eve for Eve, completely dispensing with Adam.
In the ideologically charged view of Hollywood, women can play the role of boxers very well. And to elevate women to male positions, Hollywood is weakening or even terminating men from all their traditional male roles, especially leadership. For Hollywood, the time has come for women to lead the world in everything, including muscular strength and military actions.
However, God is not dependent on Hollywood and its spiritual and moral failures. Before Hollywood, there was God — Jesus Christ — and long after Hollywood disappears into the dust of oblivion, God will continue as King of the Universe.
In Hollywood’s dying vision, women are neocons, real war machines with no time for home, husband and children, but with plenty of time to have sex with men and punch them. But in God’s view, women can play the role of wife and mother very well without time to be neocons.
“Terminator: Dark Fate” had a deserved failure. It terminated the reality of the differences between women and men. It terminated the reality of marriage for the future. And in the process, it terminated itself as a work of public utility. It has become useless.
I am not surprised, as its director, who loves feminism and divorces against women, has a particular war against Christianity. In fact, the whole of Hollywood is at war with Christianity.
No matter how much Hollywood and its terminators fight against marriage and the differences between men and women to terminate the biological reality that God created, the Creator is greater.
It is impossible to terminate what has already been determined by God. Hollywood will pass away, but God and His Word will remain forever.

Trump: “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world”

Trump: “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world”

By Julio Severo
After a surprise visit to the U.S. troops in Iraq and Germany, the U.S. President Donald Trump said, “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world.”
I fully agree with him. His comment is in line with his view in 2016, when he expressed hostility to neocons, who have kept the U.S. captive in everlasting wars.
In its capacity as a global policeman, the U.S. has about 800 military bases in 148 countries — an astonishingly high number, considering that the world has just 196 countries. Militarily, the U.S. is increasingly occupying the nations. Did Trump mean that the U.S. role as a military occupier and policeman would end?
Yet, what Trump added as an explanation for his alleged stance against the U.S. as a global policeman is a far cry from his original anti-neocon views. He said he does not want the U.S. to be “taken advantage of any more by countries that use us and use our incredible military to protect them” as he complained that “they don’t pay for it, and they’re going to have to.”
I can agree with him about the fact that it is unacceptable the United States as the policeman of the world. But where is the U.S. military being taken advantage by countries? Does he want occupied nations to pay for their occupation?
Does Trump mean, for example, that Europe should pay NATO for military protection when NATO has been completely useless to protect Europe from Islamic invasions? In fact, Trump himself said in 2016 that NATO is useless. I fully agree with him. The greatest threat to the European civilization is invading it right under NATO’s nose!
What is the point for Europe to pay if NATO grants no military protection against Islamic invasions? Besides, many times Europe has been taken advantage by the U.S. to protect Saudi Islamic ambitions.
Even though Trump angered neocons with his order to withdraw from Syria U.S. troops illegally deployed by Obama there, he equally delighted neocons with his plan not to withdraw troops from Iraq, explaining that the U.S. would use Iraq as the home base for future operations in the Middle East. The global policeman intends to occupy Iraq for its military operations.
Trump condemned Bush for the invasion of Iraq. He said that Bush lied about his reasons to invade Iraq. Was Trump right then or is Trump lying now?
“It’s a place I have been talking about for many years, many many years,” he told journalists on Wednesday in a reference to his past claims that the U.S. shouldn’t have waged war in Iraq after 9/11. “I was talking about it as a civilian,” he reminded.
Some Iraqi political leaders condemned Trump’s surprise visit as a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty. Who can blame them? Americans would have also complained if a foreign president had visited his foreign troops within the U.S. Americans in the late 1700s could identify themselves with them.
When the British Empire kept its troops in America, Americans called it oppression and unacceptable. Why cannot be called oppression and unacceptable when America, as an empire, keeps her troops in foreign nations in detriment of vulnerable Christian populations?
Americans did not like to be invaded and occupied by British troops 200 years ago. Today they would not like also to be invaded and occupied militarily for any foreign nation. Their patriotic feeling is right, healthy and has a good Bible foundation:
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12 ESV)
Bush’s invasion of Iraq provoked, in its aftermath, untold suffering, devastation and death to the small Christian communities. If the global policeman cannot protect Christians, why stay in the Middle East?
The truth is, the role of the U.S. as a global policeman has not been particularly good for persecuted Christians and their survival.
In Iraq, Trump said that the coalition of Turkey and Saudi Arabia will finish ISIS off and rebuild Syria. The problem is: Saudi Arabia, aided by Crooked Hillary Clinton, created ISIS, which was aided by Turkey, an Islamic nation notorious for its genocide of Christians. Christians in Syria and Iraq suffered genocide in the hands of ISIS while the U.S. military bases in the Middle East protect Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
If Americans in the 2 World War had such mindset, they would have protected Hitler and asked his assistance to defeat Nazism!
Trump also complained that the U.S. has spent “7 trillion dollars in the Middle East.” This massive amount was not spent to protect persecuted Christians. It was spent to help the murderous ambitions of the Islamic dictatorship of Saudi Arabia.
Cannot the U.S. just pull out its troops from the Middle East and deploy them in the U.S. borders? Cannot the U.S. spend 7 trillion dollars for security in the U.S. borders?
No young man wants to go to war in a distant foreign nation to fight for an unpatriotic cause. This was not different with Trump, who never served in the military, having received a medical diagnosis that he had bone spurs. The diagnosis helped him receive an exemption from mandatory service during the Vietnam War.
Yet, the daughters of the doctor who provided the medical excuse claimed that their father offered the diagnosis as a favor to the Trumps. So Trump is a living evidence that no young man wants to go to war and no family wants their children going to far-away wars.
In 1935, in his book “War Is a Racket,” Major General Smedley D. Butler said, “The 4,000,000 young men who put on uniforms and marched or sailed away were not asked whether they wanted to go forth to suffer and die.”
Butler, who said that there is a war industry in the U.S. that greatly profits from wars, added,
“A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes. In the World War [I] a mere handful garnered the profits of the conflict. At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War.”
His patriotic book exposes how the U.S. military leaders were, over 80 years ago, prioritizing the ambitions of the military industrial complex at the expense of true patriotism and U.S. national security. It is impossible not to conclude that the ambitions have not increased.
To build an empire, the military industrial complex is destroying the U.S. as a Christian nation.
No young man wants to go to a distant foreign war to die a senseless death. Trump was an intelligent young man when he and his family used a medical excuse to exempt him from mandatory service during the Vietnam War.
No intelligent nation accepts the military occupation of an empire. Americans in the 1700s fought against an oppressive military empire, not to build an oppressive military empire.
As a global police, the U.S. has successfully isolated Russia, the largest Christian Orthodox nation in the world, but it has not isolated Saudi Arabia, the main sponsor of Islamic terror around the world. On the contrary, the U.S. has heavily armed the Saudis.
If Trump is serious about his comment “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world,” he should do just what Americans in the 1700s did. He should fight for America as a nation and fight against the empire within America that, as a parasite, is corrupting and destroying the original Christian American nation.
To deliver the U.S. from its role as global policeman will result in:
* Saving thousands of lives of U.S. young servicemen and other thousands of lives of Christians who perish in the aftermath of U.S. invasions and intrusion in the Middle East.
* Saving trillion dollars that, instead of being spent on bloody operations to serve Saudi ambitions, could be spent on the security of U.S. borders and necessary U.S. infrastructure.
* Redirecting the U.S. to build itself as a Christian nation minding its own borders, as intended by its Founders, not as a military empire with 800 military bases in 148 countries.
Could not Trump use his presidential powers to deliver the United States from its questionable role as the policeman of the world?

Isolated Russia and the World’s Policeman

Isolated Russia and the World’s Policeman

By Julio Severo
In his 2016 presidential campaign, then candidate Donald Trump several times indicated his intent of partnership with Russia, especially against Islamic terror. Such intent encouraged Russians and infuriated anti-Russian activists.
Because of massive pressure of neocons, whom Trump especially opposed, the dreamed and hoped partnership never happened.
In 2016 Trump was a good visionary. Russia had been isolated by U.S. President Barack Hussein Obama allegedly for annexing Crimea, from Ukraine, which was Russian for 800 years. Yet, even before the annexation Obama, his administration and the Big U.S. Media were mocking Russia for its law banning homosexual propaganda to children and adolescents.
Dr. Scott Lively explained that the heavy sanctions Obama imposed on Russia were caused by a pro-sodomy Obama against an anti-sodomy Russia, and the annexation of Crimea was just an excuse. Obama even enlisted the socialist European Union to impose heavy sanctions. Such sanctions isolated Russia and crippled its economy.
It was highly expected that Trump, fulfilling his own wishes in 2016, would break the socialist stranglehold of Obama and the EU against Russia. But he has been unable to prevail over neocons. Actually, Trump has been doing exactly what Crooked Hillary Clinton promised to do: to support the Ukrainian regime that, by a coup d’etat, was imposed by Obama, George Soros, Hillary and John McCain.
Even though, geographically, the largest nation in the world, Russia has a weak military, in comparison to the U.S. and Europe, and has no place to run. The U.S. has about 800 military bases in 148 countries — and the world has just 196 countries.
So more than half of the nations in the world are under U.S. control. This is a massive supranational power, which George Washington and other Founders of America never sought or dreamed, even though American Freemasons always sought and dreamed of America as an empire establishing the New World Order. Their dreams have been fulfilled.
Isolated, Russia is “reaching out to other countries as part of Moscow’s effort to show that it is not isolated,” said former U.S. ambassador to the Ukraine Steven Pifer.
Due to the Russian efforts to react to the interference of Obama, Soros and neocons in Ukraine in 2014, the U.S. and EU have isolated Russia through sanctions.
Pifer believes that Russia is developing potential economic and military partnerships with other isolated nations as a response to its current international isolation.
One of these potential economic and military partnerships is with Venezuela, whose oil has been coveted by Americans, Russians and others. In fact, the U.S. has been one of the main buyers of the Venezuelan oil.
Even though I can, as a conservative evangelical, support the Russian law against homosexual indoctrination of children and adolescents, I cannot in any way support Russian involvement in Venezuela, because the Venezuelan people is suffering very much under socialism, which was chosen by a nation 96 percent Catholic and where the Catholic Church is traditionally supportive of Liberation Theology.
Russians could use as an excuse for such involvement the fact that they are isolated, but there is no excuse for it, from a Christian perspective.
Yet, if Russia, which is isolated, has no excuse, so is with the U.S., which is not isolated, but keeps Saudi Arabia in a privileged partnership while the Saudis bomb schools and hospitals in Yemen, having already killed over 80,000 children.
There is a humanitarian tragedy in Venezuela, because of socialism. And there is a bigger humanitarian tragedy in Yemen, because of the Saudis and U.S. weapons. In fact, the Saudi war in Yemen is considered the largest humanitarian tragedy in the world.
Even though some right-wing activists conjecture that a partnership between Venezuela and Russia is a communist plot, when even Trump has never called the modern Russia “communist,” this is not about capitalism and communism. It is not about ideology. It is just about greed for oil, just as the partnership between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia is just about greed for oil. Oil is the lifeblood of political insanity in our age. It is also behind many bloody wars.
In 2016, Trump accused Crooked Hillary and Obama, aided by Saudis, of creating ISIS, which raped and slaughtered thousands of Christians. In fact, ISIS was the main genocide machine against Christians in recent years. Trump has been unable to chastise Saudi Arabia, Obama and Hillary for this criminal creation.
The role of the U.S. as the World’s Policeman has been disastrous for Christians in the world. In the trail of U.S. military invasions and interference, there is Christian blood shedding, and Iraq, Syria, Libya and Afghanistan are sad examples.
Obama and other U.S. left-wing presidents used the U.S. government and its power as the World’s Bad Policeman. Other Obamas and worse left-wingers will come to the U.S. presidency. So the World’s Bad Policeman will be always visiting the world, and isolating nations and creating killing machines as ISIS.
Relationship with Saudi Arabia is vastly worse than a relationship with Venezuela. Even so, the U.S. and Russia are wrong in their relationships, with isolation or not.
If Russia were not isolated, would it have better relationships? So why doesn’t the U.S., which is not isolated, have better relationships?
Russia should leave all interference in Venezuela for oil, and the U.S. should leave all interference in Crimea and Ukraine, which is the cradle of the Russian civilization and Christianity.
It is not healthy to keep Russia isolated just because Obama, Soros and neocons decided so years ago. Trump should break this unfair stranglehold, just as he wanted to do in 2016.
It is not also healthy to be the World’s Policeman. America has a virtually rotative government system. Socialist Obama ruled America and the world for 8 years, imposing, by law, diplomacy and propaganda, homosexuality. Trump’s State Department is keeping this bad work of Obama, just as Trump is keeping and increasing on Russia the same sanctions Obama had imposed. This is not healthy and goes against what George Washington wanted for America.
It is very hard to support Trump’s conservative measures while he supports the Islamic dictatorship of Saudi Arabia. It is also very hard to support Putin’s conservative measures while he supports Maduro’s Venezuela. It is a decision where you should reject everything of them or partially support them. I choose the latter. I choose to support only their conservative measures, not their political insanities.
Nicolas Maduro, the communist dictator in Venezuela, should be overthrown. Saudi Arabia, the main sponsor of Islamic terrorism in the world, should have a complete regime change, but how can it be done if it is protected by U.S. military bases? How can it be done if Saudi Arabia is the main buyer of U.S. arms?
By supporting Saudi Arabia, Trump and his administration are accomplices of the Saudi crimes. By supporting Nicolas Maduro, Putin and his administration are accomplices of his crimes.
I do not support isolation for America and Russia, even though I support isolation for Saudi Arabia and North Korea. Obama’s isolation of Russia is provoking today many consequences.
My perspective is spiritual and evangelical. Years ago I met American prophet Chuck Pierce in Brazil. He told that if Brazil got closer to Israel, God was going to give a special anointing to Brazil. Then he had a vision about what would happen if Brazil began to develop into an international power: He saw the U.S. government encircling and stifling Brazil economically and militarily. He saw the U.S. filled with envy. He saw the U.S. totally determined to hinder Brazil’s economic rise.
What would Brazil do if it were isolated by the U.S., which has today about 800 military bases in 148 countries? Under U.S. sanctions, would Brazil seek partnership with Zimbabwe and Burundi?
While the non-isolated U.S. uses Ukraine to provoke Russia and isolated Russia uses Venezuela to provoke the U.S., innocent people are suffering.
China is today the largest communist nation in the world, and the U.S. has not worked to isolate China. Some right-wing U.S. presidents, as George H.W. Bush, even ignore huge Chinese communist crimes. Since Nixon (right-wing), the U.S. has been giving to communist China a privileged economic status. Why isolate Russia that has left communist almost 30 years ago? Why this feral antagonism?
America, as a Masonic empire, is at war against the America that was founded by a population 98 percent Protestant. She is at war, since Obama, also against Russia and its conservatism, isolating it and crippling its economy.
How can Trump use America as a good World’s Policeman if he is under a neocon stranglehold? How can Trump have his dreamed partnership with Russia if he is under the stranglehold of neocons, who are anti-Russian? How can Russia move as a nation under a neocon stranglehold imposed originally by Obama, Crooked Hillary and neocons?
Only God can help an isolated nation. And only God can deal with the U.S. for isolating nations to serve the interest of Obama, Soros and neocons.
May God deliver Trump from the neocon stranglehold and use him to draw the U.S. away from the Masonic ambition to make America the World’s Policeman, an empire and engine for the New World Order. May God use Trump to make America great again as a Christian and blessed Bible-reading nation, just as America was in her foundation.

Spurred by Big Left-Wing Source, Pentecostal Charisma Helps Spread Accusation of Alleged Collusion of Franklin Graham with Trump and Putin

Spurred by Big Left-Wing Source, Pentecostal Charisma Helps Spread Accusation of Alleged Collusion of Franklin Graham with Trump and Putin

By Julio Severo
When Russia was the Soviet Union, U.S. left-wingers did not see any problem. Now when Christian Orthodox conservatism has come back to the Russian government, there is no surprise that U.S. left-wingers are seeing all kind of problem in Russia. The big surprise is that U.S. right-wingers, including their Protestant supporters, are embarking on a kind of collusion with U.S. left-wingers in the same feeling of hostility to Russia.
Franklin Graham and Vladimir Putin
The most tragic is a Pentecostal media embarking on the same political collusion. I say tragic because Pentecostals and charismatics are known for believing and having prophecies and revelations. But what is the point of believing in revelations if Pentecostals choose to live in the low level of dark, sordid political collusions of left-wingers or neocons, the fake conservatives? Revelations and prophecies are granted by God to give people the chance to see above the low level of dark, sordid political collusions.
In a recent report titled “The Russian Connection: When Franklin Graham Met Putin,” Charisma, which is the largest Pentecostal media in the world, said,
When President Trump stood beside Russian President Vladimir Putin… the subsequent firestorm of criticism included liberals as well as prominent Republicans. But there was one group that kept uncharacteristically quiet: the president’s evangelical advisers.
The Charisma report added,
There are good reasons why some Christian right leaders are less than eager to address Trump’s attempts to warm relations between the U.S. and Russia. For years, American evangelicals have cultivated ties with Russia, highlighted by a 2015 meeting between Franklin Graham, son of the late Billy Graham, and Putin in Russia.
But by the time Trump was inaugurated in 2017, the Kremlin had become what Politico described as "the leader of the global Christian Right," largely based on an alliance with Russian Orthodox Church Patriarch Kirill.
Graham’s public relationship with Trump dates back to at least 2011, when he told ABC News, “The more you listen to [Trump], the more you say to yourself, ‘You know, maybe the guy’s right.’” The following year, Trump’s foundation reportedly gave the organization named for Franklin Graham’s father, the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, a $100,000 check in 2012, while Samaritan’s Purse, a Christian relief group also run by Franklin Graham, received $25,000 the same year and $10,000 in 2013.
Meanwhile, Putin’s ideological influence over parts of the American religious right dates back to at least 2014.
In March of that year, Putin was featured on the cover of Decision Magazine, a publication of the BGEA, in an issue that included an opinion article by Franklin Graham that offered cautious praise for the Russian president. The evangelical leader pointed to Putin’s decision to sign a law barring the dissemination of “propaganda of nontraditional sexual relations” to children.
“It’s obvious that President Obama and his administration are pushing the gay-lesbian agenda in America today and have sold themselves completely to that which is contrary to God’s teaching,” Graham wrote. He later added: “In my opinion, Putin is right on these issues. Obviously, he may be wrong about many things, but he has taken a stand to protect his nation’s children from the damaging effects of any gay and lesbian agenda.”
Then Charisma mentions meetings of Russian Orthodox Christian leaders with conservative evangelical leaders in America as an alleged example of some sort of “intrigue.” The big problem — and you do not need any supernatural gift of prophecy to see it — is that the source for all the accusations of intrigue is not Charisma itself. It is not also some conservative evangelical media. The source was the Religion News Service, which used as its own source… Mother Jones, a famous U.S. left-wing magazine.
Actually, Charisma carelessly reproduced the full report from the Religion News Service, which is plain propaganda against Trump, against Graham and against Russia.
If Charisma had done a diligent investigative report, it would have seen that the Religion News Service was not the original source. The Religion News Service used a very big left-wing source.
The issue is not why Mother Jones and other U.S. left-wingers are worried or even desperate about contacts of conservative evangelicals with Trump and of conservative evangelicals with Russia. The big issue is why evangelicals, including Pentecostals, are allowing Mother Jones and other U.S. left-wingers to dictate to them how should be their relationship with Trump and Russia.
Pentecostals and charismatics blindly following non-leftist sources is bad. But to follow left-wing sources is vastly worse.
In an extensive report titled “What Happened in Moscow: The Inside Story of How Trump’s Obsession With Putin Began,” Mother Jones mentioned Trump’s visit to Russia in 2013 as a worrying point. Another worrying point was the Russian law banning homosexual propaganda to children. This left-wing report was the source for the Religion News Service and ultimately and consequently for Charisma.
Donald Trump and Franklin Graham
Left-wing Mother Jones opened her heart about all her bad feelings on Trump, Russia, Graham and the Russian law against homosexual propaganda, saying:
…the Russian Duma had passed a law that made it illegal to expose children to information about homosexuality. The new anti-gay measure was the latest move by Putin to appeal to the conservative Orthodox Church and ultranationalist forces.
Human rights and gay rights advocates in Russia and around the world denounced the new law. Vodka boycotts were launched. There was a push to relocate the Winter Olympics, scheduled to be held the following year in Sochi, Russia. In the United States, the Human Rights Campaign called on Trump and the Miss Universe Organization to move the event out of Russia, noting that under the new law a contestant could be prosecuted if she were to voice support for gay rights.
The uproar over the Russian anti-gay act confronted Trump with a dilemma—how to distance himself from the law without jeopardizing his big Russia play. The Miss Universe Organization issued a statement asserting that it “believes in equality for all individuals.” That didn’t stop the protests. Bravo talk-show host Andy Cohen and entertainment reporter Giuliana Rancic, who had previously co-hosted the pageant, quit the show. Miss Universe officials scrambled and found replacements: Thomas Roberts, an openly gay MSNBC anchor, and former Spice Girl Mel B.
Roberts explained his decision in an op-ed on MSNBC.com: “Boycotting and vilifying from the outside is too easy. Rather, I choose to offer my support of the LGBT community in Russia by going to Moscow and hosting this event as a journalist, an anchor, and a man who happens to be gay. Let people see I am no different than anyone else.”
This was a godsend for Trump. He granted Roberts an interview on MSNBC. “I think you’re going to do fantastically,” he told Roberts, “and I love the fact that you feel the same about the whole situation as me.” Inevitably, the conversation turned toward Putin and whether he would appear at the pageant. “I know for a fact that he wants very much to come,” Trump said, “but we’ll have to see. We haven’t heard yet, but we have invited him.”
Though US relations with Moscow were at this point deteriorating, Trump was touting Putin as a wily and strong leader. In September, Putin published an op-ed in the New York Times that opposed a possible US military strike against the government of Bashar al-Assad in Syria (in retaliation for its use of chemical weapons) and that denounced President Barack Obama for referring to American exceptionalism. The next day, Trump on Fox News commended Putin’s move. “It really makes him look like a great leader,” he said.
The following month, Trump appeared on David Letterman’s late-night show. The host asked if Trump had ever done any deals with the Russians. “I’ve done a lot of business with the Russians,” Trump replied, adding, “They’re smart and they’re tough.” Letterman inquired if Trump had ever met Putin. “He’s a tough guy,” Trump said. “I met him once.” In fact, there was no record he ever had.
Do you have a relationship with Putin and any sway with the Russian leader? Roberts asked him. Trump was unequivocal: “I do have a relationship.” He paused. “I can tell you that he’s very interested in what we’re doing here today. He’s probably very interested in what you and I are saying today. And I’m sure he’s going to be seeing it in some form.”
Trump could barely contain his praise for Russia’s president: “Look, he’s done a very brilliant job in terms of what he represents and who he’s representing. If you look at what he’s done with Syria, if you look at so many of the different things, he has really eaten our president’s lunch. Let’s not kid ourselves. He’s done an amazing job…He’s put himself at the forefront of the world as a leader in a short period of time.”
But Trump had decided to attend the celebration of evangelist Billy Graham’s 95th birthday on November 7 at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville, North Carolina. In Russia, Trump told Goldstone that it had been necessary for him to show up at the Graham event: “There is something I’m planning down the road, and it’s really important.”
Goldstone knew exactly what Trump was talking about: a run for the White House. Franklin Graham, the evangelist’s son, was an influential figure among religious conservatives. When Trump two years earlier was championing birtherism—the baseless conspiracy theory that Barack Obama had been born in Kenya and was ineligible to be president—Graham joined the birther bandwagon, raising questions about the president’s birth certificate. Appearing at this event and currying favor with Franklin Graham was a mandatory stop for Trump, if he was serious about seeking the Republican presidential nomination. And it paid off: Trump and his wife Melania were seated at the VIP table along with Rupert Murdoch and Sarah Palin. Franklin Graham later said that Trump was among those who “gave their hearts to Christ” that night.
So these are the worries of Mother Jones, one of the most left-wing publications in the United States. The mystery is not why Mother Jones and other U.S. left-wing publications are so opposed to evangelical involvement with Trump and Russian conservatism today and Trump’s involvement with Russia. The mystery is why evangelicals, especially Charisma, would used its powerful media to let a left-wing article spread its venom against Trump and Russian conservatism.
The problem is not only a lack of attention to God’s Word and prophecies and revelations. It is a lack of Christian good sense.
While Charisma and some Pentecostals are giving attention to Mother Jones and other left-wingers, the Christian Broadcasting Network and other charismatic channels are giving attention to neocons, the fake conservatives. This is sheer lack of good sense too.
Trump is better than Obama and Russia is not worse than the Vatican. If the U.S. has had a long relationship and partnership with the Vatican, why not with Russia?
Russia is vastly better than the Islamic dictatorship of Saudi Arabia. If the U.S. has had a long relationship and partnership with Saudi Arabia, why is the U.S. left so enraged and desperate to hinder U.S. conservative evangelicals from a partnership with Russia?
Because the anti-Russia pressure from left-wingers and neocons has been so massive, in a time when Russia is more open to cooperation, the U.S. finds itself, even under Trump, seeking all reason and non-reason to impose sanctions, alienate and even provoke Russia.
If the U.S. did to the Vatican only ten percent of what it has been doing to Russia, it would be called, in the midst of outcries, anti-Catholic hostility.
If the U.S. did to Israel only ten percent of what it has been doing to Russia, it would be called, in the midst of outcries, anti-Israel hostility or even anti-Semitism.
The same left that always saw no reason to blame the old Soviet Union today sees all reason and non-reason to blame conservative Russia for everything and nothing. Their inconsistency is glaring to normal eyes but why not also to the Pentecostal and charismatic spiritual eyes of Charisma and other evangelicals?
Left-wingers and neocons are destroying the best chance that the U.S. has ever had of partnership with a conservative Russia.
Perhaps one of the most important signs of such partnership happened in 2014, in Moscow, when the Kremlin held a pro-family conference attended by international pro-family leaders, including me. The conference clearly condemned abortion, the homosexual agenda and Marxism. The late Larry Jacobs, who was a major leader in the World Congress of Families, told me personally that the Obama administration and U.S. left-wingers were threatening conservative Americans attending this conference. Jacobs and other Americans were very courageous to challenge Obama’s threats. Jacobs was a Pentecostal from the Assemblies of God.
Not surprisingly, Mother Jones saw a conservative conspiracy in the pro-family conference in Moscow. But what expect from left-wingers?
Conservative Pentecostals and charismatics should not let neocons and left-wingers — who embrace Saudi Arabia and their bloody petrodollars — guide them in their hateful collusion against conservative Russia.
