Israel’s Netanyahu Meets Brazil’s Bolsonaro

Israel’s Netanyahu Meets Brazil’s Bolsonaro

By Julio Severo
For the first time, an Israeli Prime Minister has visited Brazil for an inauguration. Even though Brazil had several conservative Catholic presidents, no one of them was willing to get close to Israel. With Jair Bolsonaro, a nominal Catholic, was different, because his main voting base was evangelical.
Brazilian evangelicals support Israel enthusiastically — which is a phenomenon in Brazil, the largest Catholic nation in the world, traditionally not known for supporting Israel and with a dark history of Inquisition against the Jews.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has arrived in Brazil on December 28, 2018. He intends to remain in Brazil until the inauguration of the new Brazilian president, Jair Bolsonaro, on January 1, 2019. Meanwhile, both are discussing agreements and partnership. It is a wonderful opportunity.
To support Israel in these wicked times is a big challenge. Recently, Facebook blocked my account for 30 days because I said that Jerusalem belongs only to Israel. Facebook, which belongs to a left-wing Jewish-American billionaire, does not like to support Israel. But I like! You can read how Facebook blocked my account over my pro-Israel stance here: Does Facebook Reject My Recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s Capital?
For years and decades, I have prayed, with many other Brazilian evangelicals, for such partnership, especially for the Brazilian government to recognize the whole Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and for Jerusalem’s peace. This is virtually a command for all those who love Jesus Christ and His living Word.
So I praise God for such new partnership as an answer to prayers.
I see also some challenges and opportunities. While Brazil has resisted the gay and abortion lobby, Israel has given up long ago. Israel has some of the most liberal abortion and homosexual laws in the world. So Brazil should support Israel and Jerusalem as its capital without following Israel’s liberal laws. Also, Brazilian evangelicals, who prayed for many years for a Brazilian-Israeli partnership, should pray for the salvation in Jesus Christ to both nations.
I wonder if God will open the doors to Brazil in an extraordinary way. In 2008 I met American prophet Chuck Pierce, who told that if Brazil got closer to Israel, God was going to give to Brazil the anointing that the U.S. has lost. You can read about his vision in this article: Brazil, the Next (Regional or Global) Threat to the U.S. Economic Supremacy?
Perhaps one of the biggest challenges is that while the father of Netanyahu is the author of a massive book against the Inquisition and its revisionism, one of Bolsonaro’s advisers, whom I call Bolsonaro’s Rasputin, is the most prominent Brazilian advocate of the Inquisition and its revisionism.
Bolsonaro’s Rasputin has downplayed the horrors of the Inquisition, including in this public comment:
“Even in the popular image of the Inquisition fires, lies are predominant. Everybody believe that condemned individuals ‘died burned,’ amid horrible suffering. The flames were high, more than 16 feet high, to hinder suffering. The condemned individuals (less than ten a year in two dozen nations) died suffocated in a few minutes, before the flames could touch them.”
In 2013, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Pope Francis at the Vatican, and gave the leader of the Catholic Church “The Origins of the Inquisition in Fifteenth Century Spain,” a book that largely revolves about Spanish Catholics questioning, torturing, and punishing the Jews, exposing how thousands of them were expelled from Spain or burned at the stake.
The Jewish Journal said that “The Origins of the Inquisition in Fifteenth Century Spain,” a scholarly magnum opus and in-depth tome on the Spanish Inquisition, describes how the Catholic Church persecuted, and often executed, masses of Jews.
Business Insider noted that “it is important to think of the context of the book, which is written by Netanyahu’s father Ben-Zion Netanyahu, a well-regarded historian who worked at both Hebrew University of Jerusalem and Cornell University.”
CBS News said, “Netanyahu’s father, Ben-Zion Netanyahu, was an Israeli historian… best known in academic circles for his research into the Catholic Church’s medieval inquisition against the Jews of Spain.”
Certainly, Netanyahu does not know that Bolsonaro’s Rasputin advocates the Inquisition and its revisionism. When he learns about it, he will bring, in the next trip to Brazil, some copies of “The Origins of the Inquisition in Fifteenth Century Spain.”
Evangelicals who have prayed for a partnership between Israel and Brazil know that God answers prayers and now they should pray that God may remove Inquisition advocates from the Brazilian government and put leaders according to God’s purposes.

Trump: “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world”

Trump: “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world”

By Julio Severo
After a surprise visit to the U.S. troops in Iraq and Germany, the U.S. President Donald Trump said, “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world.”
I fully agree with him. His comment is in line with his view in 2016, when he expressed hostility to neocons, who have kept the U.S. captive in everlasting wars.
In its capacity as a global policeman, the U.S. has about 800 military bases in 148 countries — an astonishingly high number, considering that the world has just 196 countries. Militarily, the U.S. is increasingly occupying the nations. Did Trump mean that the U.S. role as a military occupier and policeman would end?
Yet, what Trump added as an explanation for his alleged stance against the U.S. as a global policeman is a far cry from his original anti-neocon views. He said he does not want the U.S. to be “taken advantage of any more by countries that use us and use our incredible military to protect them” as he complained that “they don’t pay for it, and they’re going to have to.”
I can agree with him about the fact that it is unacceptable the United States as the policeman of the world. But where is the U.S. military being taken advantage by countries? Does he want occupied nations to pay for their occupation?
Does Trump mean, for example, that Europe should pay NATO for military protection when NATO has been completely useless to protect Europe from Islamic invasions? In fact, Trump himself said in 2016 that NATO is useless. I fully agree with him. The greatest threat to the European civilization is invading it right under NATO’s nose!
What is the point for Europe to pay if NATO grants no military protection against Islamic invasions? Besides, many times Europe has been taken advantage by the U.S. to protect Saudi Islamic ambitions.
Even though Trump angered neocons with his order to withdraw from Syria U.S. troops illegally deployed by Obama there, he equally delighted neocons with his plan not to withdraw troops from Iraq, explaining that the U.S. would use Iraq as the home base for future operations in the Middle East. The global policeman intends to occupy Iraq for its military operations.
Trump condemned Bush for the invasion of Iraq. He said that Bush lied about his reasons to invade Iraq. Was Trump right then or is Trump lying now?
“It’s a place I have been talking about for many years, many many years,” he told journalists on Wednesday in a reference to his past claims that the U.S. shouldn’t have waged war in Iraq after 9/11. “I was talking about it as a civilian,” he reminded.
Some Iraqi political leaders condemned Trump’s surprise visit as a violation of Iraq’s sovereignty. Who can blame them? Americans would have also complained if a foreign president had visited his foreign troops within the U.S. Americans in the late 1700s could identify themselves with them.
When the British Empire kept its troops in America, Americans called it oppression and unacceptable. Why cannot be called oppression and unacceptable when America, as an empire, keeps her troops in foreign nations in detriment of vulnerable Christian populations?
Americans did not like to be invaded and occupied by British troops 200 years ago. Today they would not like also to be invaded and occupied militarily for any foreign nation. Their patriotic feeling is right, healthy and has a good Bible foundation:
“So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 7:12 ESV)
Bush’s invasion of Iraq provoked, in its aftermath, untold suffering, devastation and death to the small Christian communities. If the global policeman cannot protect Christians, why stay in the Middle East?
The truth is, the role of the U.S. as a global policeman has not been particularly good for persecuted Christians and their survival.
In Iraq, Trump said that the coalition of Turkey and Saudi Arabia will finish ISIS off and rebuild Syria. The problem is: Saudi Arabia, aided by Crooked Hillary Clinton, created ISIS, which was aided by Turkey, an Islamic nation notorious for its genocide of Christians. Christians in Syria and Iraq suffered genocide in the hands of ISIS while the U.S. military bases in the Middle East protect Saudi Arabia and Turkey.
If Americans in the 2 World War had such mindset, they would have protected Hitler and asked his assistance to defeat Nazism!
Trump also complained that the U.S. has spent “7 trillion dollars in the Middle East.” This massive amount was not spent to protect persecuted Christians. It was spent to help the murderous ambitions of the Islamic dictatorship of Saudi Arabia.
Cannot the U.S. just pull out its troops from the Middle East and deploy them in the U.S. borders? Cannot the U.S. spend 7 trillion dollars for security in the U.S. borders?
No young man wants to go to war in a distant foreign nation to fight for an unpatriotic cause. This was not different with Trump, who never served in the military, having received a medical diagnosis that he had bone spurs. The diagnosis helped him receive an exemption from mandatory service during the Vietnam War.
Yet, the daughters of the doctor who provided the medical excuse claimed that their father offered the diagnosis as a favor to the Trumps. So Trump is a living evidence that no young man wants to go to war and no family wants their children going to far-away wars.
In 1935, in his book “War Is a Racket,” Major General Smedley D. Butler said, “The 4,000,000 young men who put on uniforms and marched or sailed away were not asked whether they wanted to go forth to suffer and die.”
Butler, who said that there is a war industry in the U.S. that greatly profits from wars, added,
“A racket is best described, I believe, as something that is not what it seems to the majority of the people. Only a small ‘inside’ group knows what it is about. It is conducted for the benefit of the very few, at the expense of the very many. Out of war a few people make huge fortunes. In the World War [I] a mere handful garnered the profits of the conflict. At least 21,000 new millionaires and billionaires were made in the United States during the World War.”
His patriotic book exposes how the U.S. military leaders were, over 80 years ago, prioritizing the ambitions of the military industrial complex at the expense of true patriotism and U.S. national security. It is impossible not to conclude that the ambitions have not increased.
To build an empire, the military industrial complex is destroying the U.S. as a Christian nation.
No young man wants to go to a distant foreign war to die a senseless death. Trump was an intelligent young man when he and his family used a medical excuse to exempt him from mandatory service during the Vietnam War.
No intelligent nation accepts the military occupation of an empire. Americans in the 1700s fought against an oppressive military empire, not to build an oppressive military empire.
As a global police, the U.S. has successfully isolated Russia, the largest Christian Orthodox nation in the world, but it has not isolated Saudi Arabia, the main sponsor of Islamic terror around the world. On the contrary, the U.S. has heavily armed the Saudis.
If Trump is serious about his comment “The United States cannot continue to be the policeman of the world,” he should do just what Americans in the 1700s did. He should fight for America as a nation and fight against the empire within America that, as a parasite, is corrupting and destroying the original Christian American nation.
To deliver the U.S. from its role as global policeman will result in:
* Saving thousands of lives of U.S. young servicemen and other thousands of lives of Christians who perish in the aftermath of U.S. invasions and intrusion in the Middle East.
* Saving trillion dollars that, instead of being spent on bloody operations to serve Saudi ambitions, could be spent on the security of U.S. borders and necessary U.S. infrastructure.
* Redirecting the U.S. to build itself as a Christian nation minding its own borders, as intended by its Founders, not as a military empire with 800 military bases in 148 countries.
Could not Trump use his presidential powers to deliver the United States from its questionable role as the policeman of the world?

Christianity in New York Yesterday and Today

Christianity in New York Yesterday and Today

By Julio Severo
Today, public display of symbols of the Christian faith is a scandal in the U.S., especially in New York City. But it was not always so. And a picture of New York City just before Easter 1956 proves that American citizens were not ashamed to publicly show they were Christians.
New York in 1956
Take a look at this picture of Holy Week when New York City was remembering in 1956 the death of Jesus and the celebration of his resurrection from the dead and compare it with New York City today, which became the center of liberalism in the United States.
The picture shows buildings with lights forming the cross.
“Huge crosses, formed by lighted windows, blaze above New York’s skyline as part of an Easter display in Manhattan’s financial district”, according to Snopes.
This scene, photographed from the roof of the Municipal Building, features 150-foot-high crosses in important commercial buildings.
Note that this picture was originally published on March 31, 1956, just days before Easter, which was on April 1. This means that before Easter New York City and its most important buildings were already celebrating Jesus Christ.
Whoever took the picture never imagined that the U.S. would move from a nation that respected Christianity to a nation that denies its Christian roots. And he also did not imagine that the lights of the New York buildings would one day celebrate homosexuality.
Today, left-wingers get furious when Christians use their shops to express their faith in Christ. But they are very happy when major stores light up their buildings with the colors of the homosexual agenda.
One World Trade Center honoring sodomy
The modern picture shows One World Trade Center, the most important building in New York, celebrating homosexuality.
New York replaced Jesus with sodomy.
The U.S. is changing. In the 1950s, about 70 percent of the American population was Protestant. Today, it’s almost 50 percent. In New York, it’s 40 percent.

Brazilian Spiritualistic Medium Praised by Oprah Winfrey Becomes Police Case as Over 500 Women, So Far, Report They Were Victims of His Sex Abuses

Brazilian Spiritualistic Medium Praised by Oprah Winfrey Becomes Police Case as Over 500 Women, So Far, Report They Were Victims of His Sex Abuses

By Julio Severo
A celebrity spiritualistic medium who became an international sensation in 2012 when Oprah Winfrey interviewed him for her talk show Super Soul Sunday is under arrest after over 500 women reported him to the Federal Prosecutors' Office in Brazil, accusing him of sexual violence. Women, teenagers and even children — including his own daughter — are among the medium’s alleged victims. Former patients from across Brazil as well as the U.S., Germany, Netherlands and Australia have contacted the authorities.
John of God and Oprah Winfrey
The U.S. Embassy in Brazil put out an alert telling people to contact Brazilian authorities if they had suffered abuse at the hands of Joao Teixeira de Faria, 76.
Accusations against Faria surfaced last week when several women appeared on a Globo Television show claiming that he sexually abused them. Since the show, the number of female victims has been skyrocketing day by day.
In the wake of the sexual scandal, federal prosecutors are also investigating how his bank accounts have amassed extraordinary amounts of millions of dollars.
Faria had worked as a spiritualistic medium for the last four decades in Brazil under the nickname “João de Deus” (John of God). He became famous for conducting “psychic surgeries” that he said could cure diseases, including cancer.
The accusers include Faria’s adult daughter, Dalva Teixeira, who said that under the pretense of mystical treatments he abused and raped her between the ages of 10 and 14.
“My father is a monster,” she said.
Faria attracted desperate followers from around the world, all looking for spiritual guidance or cures for afflictions.
After interviewing him in 2012, Oprah Winfrey had written that she was overwhelmed by the experience of seeing him cut into the breast of a woman without anesthesia and that she left feeling “an overwhelming sense of peace.”
At the time, she told Brazilian media, “It was so strong that I had to sit down because I felt like I was going to pass out.”
After the massive scandal of sexual abuse, videos and articles related to Faria have been deleted from Oprah.com.
Many of Faria’s accusers say they were molested while children. A court dismissed a 2010 suit involving an alleged sexual molestation of a 16-year-old girl by Faria after his lawyers argued that there was not enough evidence to prosecute him.
How have all the cases gone unpunished for so long time? Spiritualistic mediums in Brazil manage a dark spiritual power that most people do not understand.
Bruce Douglas, a correspondent in Brazil for Bloomberg, said that when the Brazilian police interrogated Faria, strange things happened. He said, “A keyboard with a mind of its own; a short-circuit of an electrical cable and a mysterious road accident: a series of spooky events interrupts first police interrogation of John of God.”
It is understandable then the fear of victims to break their tortured silence to speak about sexual assaults by a man having so much dark spiritual power.
The same Brazilian left-wing press that shows no reluctance to denounce consistently sexual scandals of Catholic priests or Protestant ministers abusing one or two victims have shown a persistent and extraordinary reluctance to reveal the sexual scandals of a spiritualistic medium raping over 500 victims. In Brazil, spiritualistic mediums enjoy not only great spiritual power, but also great political power. Because many political and social authorities secretly meet them, they are specially protected.
Traditionally, even Brazilian Catholic presidents have consulted spiritualistic mediums and other occultists. The case of Faria is not different. Consulted by Brazilian presidents and lauded by international celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Faria established himself as Brazil’s pre-eminent “healer,” offering surgery to the sick guided only by dark spirits. The medium visited President Michel Temer in hospital last year, while former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva sought his assistance during his treatment for cancer.
How has a spiritualistic medium become a celebrity in Brazil, the largest Catholic nation in the world?
The reality is that religious syncretism is widespread among Brazilian Catholics. According to a poll conducted by the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life, more than 60% of the urban population of Brazil claims a Catholic affiliation. Yet, there is an overlay of Afro-Brazilian religions (like Candomblé, Quimbanda and Umbanda) with Catholic beliefs and practices, which many Catholic Brazilians do not find inconsistent with their faith.
Astrologers, spiritualistic mediums and psychics are immensely popular in Brazil. Paulo Coelho, a Brazilian esoteric author who is seen as a “mystic Catholic,” has several books published around the world, including in the United States. Even Bill Clinton, when he was the U.S. president, had his books as favorite reading. Coelho’s Facebook fanpage has about 30,000,000 followers.
Paulo Coelho is, by far, the greatest esoteric writer in Brazil. A small Google search delivers 23 million hits to his name.
The late Brazilian medium Chico Xavier delivers almost 6 million.
There are many other known Brazilian names involved in occultism, including self-proclaimed philosopher Olavo de Carvalho, who has been a self-exiled immigrant in the U.S. for over 13 years.
In 2017, the name of Carvalho, who was a famous astrologer in Brazil, delivered almost 800,000 hits on Google, but with the intense propaganda that the new president Jair Bolsonaro has been doing for him, the number shot to 2,800,000.
Today, the Facebook fanpage of astrologer Olavo has slightly over 500,000 followers, virtually the same number of fans of Walter Mercado, a Puerto Rican astrologer who became famous on Brazilian TV in the 1990s. The Facebook fanpage of the Puerto Rican has slightly over 500,000 followers.
Astrologers, spiritualistic mediums and psychics in Brazil have a history of meetings with prominent politicians and artists, who consult them for spiritual solutions.
No one knows the real number of adherents of spiritualism and occultism in Brazil and their numbers could be significantly higher than the official census figure, since many of them traditionally disguise their religion under “Roman Catholic” syncretism. This is the case of João Teixeira de Faria. He has an occult religion incompatible with Christianity, but under Catholic syncretism he is “John of God,” when his activities and beliefs have nothing to do with God and everything to do with Satan.
Brazilian Catholics are far more likely to believe in good luck charms, fortune-tellers, spiritualistic mediums and astrology than converts to Protestantism.
Protestantism, especially the charismatic variety, has resisted syncretism more than other Christian churches have in the diverse Brazil and it has established a significant presence in Brazil. Charismatic evangelicals proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, heal the sick and expel demons, in the name of Jesus. Their increasing presence is helping to break the spiritual bondage of spiritualistic mediums and other occultists, who are consulted and protected by presidents and officials, in the Brazilian society.
A large number of former spiritualistic mediums, who were delivered from demons, testify today that they found peace and salvation only through Jesus Christ, as proclaimed by charismatic evangelicals.
