Denmark,
one of the most Lutheran nations in the world, launches children’s TV show
about man with no control over his giant penis
By Julio Severo
The state television in Denmark has launched
an animated series aimed at aged 4-8 children about John Dillermand, the man
with the world’s longest penis that can perform rescue operations, etch murals,
hoist a flag and even steal ice-cream from children — all of this with his
penis.
The name Dillermand carries the meaning of
the show. “Diller” is a Danish slang for penis and “mand” is the Danish word
for man. So Dillermand literally means “Penis-man.”
Unsurprisingly, the series has provoked criticism.
Feminists have complained that to
celebrate male genitalia, not female genitalia, perpetuates “gender” inequality.
TV presenter Sofie Linde Christian Groes, an associate professor and gender
researcher at Roskilde University, said,
“It’s perpetuating the standard idea of a
patriarchal society and normalizing ‘locker room culture’ … that’s been used to
excuse a lot of bad behavior from men. It’s meant to be funny — so it’s seen as
harmless. But it’s not. And we’re teaching this to our kids.”
Erla Heinesen Højsted, a clinical
psychologist who works with families and children, thinks that it’s healthy to
show a big penis to children. She said,
“John Dillermand talks to children and
shares their way of thinking — and kids do find genitals funny. The show
depicts a man who is impulsive and not always in control, who makes mistakes –
like kids do, but crucially, Dillermand always makes it right.”
DR, the Danish state TV, has a reputation
for pushing boundaries — especially for children. Another children’s TV success
in Denmark is Onkel Reje, a popular figure who curses, smokes a pipe and
eschews baths. A character in Gepetto News revealed a love of cross-dressing.
And Ultra Smider Tøjet (Ultra Strips Down) caused outrage in 2020 for
presenting children aged 11-13 with a panel of nude adults, but psychologist Højsted
said that criticism of such sexual perversions to children was unjustified.
DR responded to the latest criticism by
saying it could just as easily have made a program “about a woman with no
control over her vagina” and that the most important thing was that children
enjoyed John Dillermand.
What is shocking is that if the producers
of this children’s state TV show had presented marriage as the only healthy value
for human sexuality, feminists and gender activists would react with rage. To
present marriage as only between man and woman and discreet sexuality in a positive
light would be “offensive” to liberal minds.
More shocking is that Denmark is a
Protestant nation. Over 75 percent of Denmark are Lutheran.
Lutheranism
in Denmark is decadent, filled with socialism and hostile to the charismatic
renewal, even though Luther himself had not such hostility
to the supernatural gifts of the Holy Spirit.
The more conservative Lutheran today are
charismatic Lutherans.
Moved
by socialism, the Danish Lutheran Church criticizes gender inequality and
conservative charismatic Christians. Lifeless religiosity allies with human
decay and attacks Christians filled with the Holy Spirit.
If Danish Lutheranism embraced the
charismatic renewal, they would not be embracing the paganism of blatant
immorality as positive value to children.
