Mystery: Pentagon owns 175 million internet addresses worth $4billion

By Julio Severo

A very strange thing happened on the internet the day President Joe Biden was sworn in. The Pentagon, which is the U.S. Department of Defense, began to deal with its colossal property of 175 million internet addresses — about 1/25th the size of the current internet.

”It is massive. That is the biggest thing in the history of the internet,” said Doug Madory, director of internet analysis at Kentik, a network operating company. It’s also more than twice the size of the internet space actually used by the Pentagon, reported the Associated Press.

Madory said that control over a big part of the Internet allows the U.S. military to “collect a massive amount of background internet traffic for threat intelligence.”

Perhaps no one should complain about the Pentagon doing surveillance on the internet. According to the Associated Press, the internet was created by the Pentagon. So its creator has the right to use it for any purpose, including surveillance and any other secret activity.

Therefore, it is no coincidence that the Big Techs (Facebook, Twitter, Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc.) have mysterious connections to NSA (National Security Agency) and the Pentagon to make easier their surveillance operations.

The complainers should create their own internet in their respective nations.

With information from the Associated Press.
